an update on my neatsheet bivy sack
coincidentally, i recently heard from the PCT thru-hiker to whom i gave my neatsheet "bivy." the bivy is just a single layer of a small neatsheet, folded over and sewn into a rectangular sack. i gave it to him to use in conjunction with his 5x7 tarp, which he hadn't used beofe and was somewhat nervous about using to keep himself dry. here is what he had to say about it: "greatness! perfect for a down bag that is pushing it rating wise since it did effectively both resist moisture and add warmth. and triples as a ground cloth! a blessing, i still have it and cant thank you enough. i used it from the moist south east on the banks of the cumberland to muir hut at 12000 feet to the lovely pacific ocean sands at moonstone beach, north of arcadia. i was never nervous on rainy or cold nights due to that thing." while this does make me glow just a wee bit, it also makes me want to whip another one up for myself. +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ BackpackingLight Mailing List To unsubscribe, send a blank message to: BackpackingLight-unsubscribe@...
