crash on startup

I think my last three emails did not make it to the list
(attached).

Very strange: I have three different LS installations and
they all behave differently (even though the LS directzory
including step.rc and thus modules is almost identical).

I'll do some more tests and will let you know.

crash on login

Hi all,

now two of my win7 LS installations crash on login. I can
restart LS no probs, but it's somewhat more unstable than
before. My laptop version seem so far to be unaffected (will
know after the week-end.

Anybody else have these problems?

LS on win7 with patches

Dear DevTeam,

I have recently installed a new machine at home and first
installed all software and patches and then installed LS. To
my surprise, while all my other machines are running LS just
fine, on this one LS doesn't load at startup and if I start
it manually, the UAC asks me if I really want to do it. Then
LS starts, but a message comes up immediately that it's
about to crash and within a few minutes of use it indeed
does crash.

This is on win7 32 bit. The machine is running the exact
same LiteStep folder that I have running with little
problem) on my other win7 32bit machines.

Can anyone confirm this as a bug?

Thanks!

LS development

Dear remaining few 'Steppers,

I just checked lsdev.org and the last posted
'alpha' build is from 29-04-04 and CVS doesn't
show any new files since then either.

Is it safe to assume that LS is now finally
deceased and dead for good?

Anyone from the older (around 1998 to early 2000's) #litestep still around?

win7 error

Hi all,

I just found another bug/problem using LS with
win7: I just tried to install updates and got an
error message indicating something was wrong with
the system tray (no access by windows update). I
logged into my explorer account and the update
worked.

Just thought I'd let you guys know...

Systray is still the largest single issue with win7
and LS, all other stuff is fairly minor.

Best Volume Module?

I want to add some volume support to Litestep. I saw a few different
modules, but I'm not sure what to go with. I want to do two things:

1) have a master Win+Up/Down volume control
2) have a scrolling wheel volume control on a label*

I figured it was a fair question. I haven't tried anything out yet. I
don't need sliders (cool as they are). I don't need much. I just want to
pick the right module the first time.

* that's and over simplified statement. My plan is to integrate volume
control into syro's Orb theme. I want to scroll on the orb and see the
volume change in percentages. That's my next step, but I haven't even
picked out a volume module yet.

Anyway, I hope this is a simple question.  ^.^;

Thanks... Red
