Ha! I just lost the first whole tab from the Powerpro Config panel!

It's true! The Command list tab disappeared completely! Then, when I click on any other tab, the tabs began
to disappear from the right until I had nothing but a blank tab! Freaky, no? I restarted Powerpro a few times
and it went back to normal. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Re: Ha! I just lost the first whole tab from the Powerpro Config panel!

And, no, it didn't go back to normal, actually. It's still broken, and if I am no longer able to edit a command
list. I reinstalled Powerpro49j (last version, no?) and the error persists. I will try restarting my
computer next. I have already verified that no other version of powerpro is running when I restart it. If
restarting doesn't work, I'll try rebuilding my pcf file.

Re: Ha! I just lost the first whole tab from the Powerpro Config panel!

I never heard of this. MY only guess would be that there is some kind of internal limit that has been exceeded
which should have been detected but was not. It could also be a Windows system dll issue, although that
seems unlikely (tabbed dialogs use Windows internal routine).

How many command lists to you have. The limit is 200-300 as I recall.

The latest version is 4.9n9, I think. If you download file from site and re-install, that will get it. But I
doubt that reinstallation will help. Reboot might if it is some kind of problem with your system dlls.

You could also try one of the test pcfs like default.pcf.

I also would not rebuild the pcf from scratch but rather try deleting the things ou just added or using on of
the backups you have (or possibly the autobackups PowerPro takes).

Re: Ha! I just lost the first whole tab from the Powerpro Config panel!

Just want to restate something I have said before: it's basically impossible to get a corrupt pcf file
without PowerPro complaining that it is corrupt. So rebuilding pcf files is not normally helpful.

What is usually needed is to find what aspect of the pcf file is activating the situation (assuming a reboot
does not help by refreshing the in-memory copies of system dlls). The easiest way to do that is to work
backwards, deleting the most recent changes.

Re: Ha! I just lost the first whole tab from the Powerpro Config panel!

Bruce, restarting the computer did the trick. I am glad to know I can't corrupt my pcf file. I understand
about "working backwards" to find the problem, too.

I don't know what happened, but it was weird, that's for sure. Sorry for complaining like that; I've become
rather dependent on Powerpro over the last few years. It does a lot of things for me now.

Thanks for the info and the advice, Bruce.

No cl.SetBackColor for whole bar?

Somehow, I can't figure out a way to do this. I can use cl.GetBackcolor("[listname]"), but what is the
reverse? cl.SetBackcolor("[listname]","[color]") doesn't work, nor does
[listhandle].SetBackcolor("[color]"). It doesn't seem to be in help either. A glaring omission?

Thanks for any help

Re: No cl.SetBackColor for whole bar?

Okay, managed to work around this by using:

bar.close("B_Volume")
cl.AddProperties("B_Volume","format=back: 255 0 0")
wait.for(50)
bar.show("B_Volume")

Seems rather complicated, but I suppose there wasn't any more direct route...

Re: No cl.SetBackColor for whole bar?

here's an example of a bar I have that works with SetBackColor:

hts.Insert(0).AddLeft("exec.VolumeAll(255-cl.GetCtrlValue(\"HaruTaskbarS\",\"slider\"))");;+
.SetBackColor("57 57 56").SetHeight(47).SetWidth(4);;+
.SetLabel("*control slider (volume) 0 255 0 vertical noticks clientedge").SetId("slider")

hope it helps
