I went to install eccoPro, then realised I already had it (aborted
experiment from a few years ago); but couldn't see any DDE
conversations possible in my ancient 16 bit DDE monitoring progs.

PowerPro and UltraEdit

I use UltraEdit as a Notepad replacement. In PowerPro, I have a button
that opens a frequently used text file. The button simply gives the
path to the text file, and that works fine whenever UltraEdit is not
already open. However, when UltraEdit is open (either with no file
loaded or another file loaded), then the button no longer works. In
other words, clicking the button has no effect.

Oddly, if I open the configuration for that button and click Test,
then the button works as expected. In other words, the file opens in
UltraEdit even when UltraEdit is already open.

Can anyone explain why the Test button indicates that the button is
configured correctly; but once I try to use the button normally, it
fails (under the specified condition that UltraEdit is already open)?

Can anyone provide a workaround so that I can use PowerPro normally to
open a text file, even when UltraEdit is already open?

Make sure "switch to if active" is not checked. If it is, and
Ultraedit is running, then clicking a text file is asking to start
ultraedit from PowerPro's viewpoint, and so if box this is checked
,PowerPro will just switch to Ultraedit.

Re: PowerPro and UltraEdit

What I have on my button is <path to ultraedit>\uedit32.exe with the
<path to file>\file and ultraedit opens the file if it's not running
and opens the file when it is. I also have a key combo set up with the
command <path to ultraedit>\uedit32.exe and that brings me to ultraedit
whether or not it was already open.

Re: dde plugin vs Ecco

I use the 32 bit version, but the last version of Ecco had both 16 and
32 bit flavors. It has a few setup issues (at least on XP and Vista)
but I think the previously posted link averts them.

how to run .runit <at> x with 2 apps both with cmd parameters?

Hi,

how can i set up a cmd to run "psexec.exe -l -d"
with "cmd.exe /k title=cmd-LUR && color 4f && cd c:\"

PsExec (Execute processes on a remote system and redirect output to
the local system)
I use this app from Sysinternals(now MS) to run apps with limited
privileges. in this case:
-l "Run process as limited user (strips the Administrators group and
allows only privileges assigned to the Users group)"
-d "Don't wait for application to terminate. Only use this option for
non-interactive applications."

I have tried many combinations following the runit <at> x ReadMe and can't
do it tweaking the examples provided there.

any help appreciated.
thanks

Re: how to run .runit <at> x with 2 apps both with cmd parameters?

forgot to say that psexec is located inside pprofolder and the path to
it was added to the script.
