As a matter of fact I have, I setup up a MacBook for a friend, with BootCamp and WinXP Pro and
PowerPro. It works fine, but since it isn't my laptop I can't tell if there are any fine-grained gotchas with
PowerPro. I would probably investigate more the keyboard modifiers for hotkeys and keytrap. Even with
BootCamp loaded, the Mac keyboard isn't quite like a PC keyboard.

I like BootCamp, it gives you a 99% PC on a Mac with no hassles, but I was stung when it went from beta to
production because the production version forces you to reinstall the OS, which means a forced OS
upgrade, which - understandably - my friend didn't want to do. So now he's stuck with old BootCamp
drivers and some issues with them. I don't think this is your case, though, since you're getting a new Mac.

PowerPro Syntax Highlighting (SHF)

Hi all !

I recently browsed through the PPro archives looking for any
information about PPro Syntax Highlighting Files aka SHFs.

Back in Feb 2005 I believe there were some efforts made but I could
not find any recent log.

Is anyone out there interested in helping to create some sort of SHF
repository that we could house in the files section of this group ?

I mostly use Notepad++ which is a great open source editor that comes
with many different Syntax Highlighting settings for different
programming languages, however nothing to support PPro syntax.

I would be happy to participate in any effort to create such a
database for us happy PPro enthusiasts.

Cheers
Kam

Re: Powerpro is blocked when debugging a visual program

Hi,
thanks for the answer.

You are right, after turning off the menu icons it works okay (
without icons ), so it was blocked when trying to get the latest icon.

I have not found the other options, I tried 'cache menu icons(gray for
large icons)' with no success.

Anyway, it's good to know how to avoid that PowerPro is blocked, thanks !

Any way to improve "right caption" positioning?

I'm using a bar with Position set to "right caption" to show current
time&date, however, it seems to be pretty buggy (seems to appear
randomly on screen sometimes, doesn't update its position while
moving a window, ...). I'm also running Samurize, I think it might
get focus when no other window is active, not sure though, that might
cause misplacing on screen. Any way to improve this behaviour? I'd
also like it on inactive windows too, but I guess that won't work
because of how Powerpro is intended to work, but you never know...

Try command list|setup|all bars| use timer for action button/caption
(grey faster)

Thanks, that helped a bit, too bad you can't seem to set the speed
higher...

One other thing I noticed, when all windows are minimized and desktop
has focus, the bar appears at some place on the desktop. Is there a
way to hide it then? Maybe through some scripting or so? I've never
used Powerpro scripting before though, so please have a little
patience :)

Try command list|setup|all bars| hide caption bar if no active windows.

Great, thanks! Kinda easy to overlook that with so many options ;)
Though it only seems to disappear when I directly click on desktop,
or use win+d. Seems some other window which isn't visible still gets
focus. I figure one more thing to improve would be to only show this
on larger windows, so that it doesn't overlap with titles, but not
sure this is possible easily...

Re: Any way to improve "right caption" positioning?

Hi. For your first item in the bar's command list, use:

*format contextif (not(caption == "" or caption =="program manager"))

You may have to add other captions to the list, for which the caption
bar should not be shown.

A more elegant way would be to check if the active window has a title
bar. If the above doesn't work for you, ask again and I'm sure someone
will post the right expression to use.

Cheers

Phil
