Can you explain the logic behing the ReplaceChars and I will try to
build into right into PowerPro, if it does not break any working
cases.

Never mind, I missed the obvious. Essentially, you are ignoring
whats in the shortcut and using the file name as the keys to send,
which may work most of the time. I cannot remember why I used
shortcuts, I'll have to look at that again. It might be that I had
not implemented a way to specify the command with folder button
bars...

I like this idea of (completely) avoiding .lnk files in PP.
AFAIK, _anyshort is the only place where PP uses .lnk files and
made me rather surprised when I first saw it that PP ever needed
.lnk files.

Yeah, .lnk files can be known to have different implementations across 9x/nt
of windows. It might be a better idea to have either an .ini or .txt file
for keeping up with those items. I'm sure that would be more reliable, and
easier to customize. We already have xxx.timerlog, and other similar files.
Sounds like one extra file would be nicer than a folder, with subfolders. =)

Have sections:
[shared]
1=path1
etc
[exename]
1=path1
etc

?

If you downloaded the latest PowerPro beta and set your .PCF to
conform to Standard Configuration, you will want to use this line:

Clip.Set(TextStart ++ "\r\n" ++ Clipboard ++ "\r\n" ++ TextEnd)

I believe that leading and trailing blanks of a .INI file's entries,
for both the left and right side of the =.

Have you tried entering this information manually into your .INI file
and reading it in to see if the space is maintained in the input?

If you aren't taking advantage of the .INI file format's [Headers] and
such, you could perform a *Exec ToFile operation to acheive what you
want.

However, I personally believe that it should be up to the script
programmer to fix output and not the INI plugin, and so I agree with
this being the ideal (for INI.Set only though):

Can your SQL server write its output to a text file if it's called?
Can you specify your queries as command line parameters to the server?

If the server outputs the results to a DOS box then this can be piped
to a text file, which PowerPro can subsequently process.

Alex

To elaborate on that, I believe that if the above desired output were
in fact written to the file, then the INI.Get function should be
returning "1" and not " 1", since .INI files are by design meant to
ignore leading and trailing whitespace, including tabs if I'm not
wrong.

Re: iniPlugin - Blank Where Are You?

The iniPlugin cannot (should not) modify information. If you write
information to a file you expect to get exactly what you wrote back.
I see no difference between a blank, a letter or a number - it is
information. It works pretty well in front of the = with the keys.
Why not behind it too? Here a small sample of the INI (has many
different sections - here only one of them):

 [Daten_Abrechnungszeitraum]

 ________11.02.04__=______
 11.02.04 Starts  <=12
 11.02.04 Volumen <=78.583
 11.02.04 KostenC <=36
 11.02.04 KostenV <=ERROR {No Rate}

Just a remark: At least at my computer the line of the previous Yahoo
message with Starts gets corrupted - a skipped blank again... this
time one missing blank in front of the = and by Yahoo. But now it
gets even worse. I never added the < in front of the =. Systems do
what they want... I have no say anymore! Even Yahoo does not listen
to me anymore!
