running scripts with ".script" steals focus from menu

Hi.

When I run a script repeatedly from a timer or from event-plugin with
a command ".script <at> label" the focus from an opened menu gets lost and
the menu is closed every time the script is run. This doesn't seem to
happen when I run a command list from a timer the "old way"
with "*Script RunFile". Could this be improved?

naughty satire part2

"Alan Claims Innocence"

I received an email kindly suggesting the "victims"
of my jests may be offended by them. Actually my jests
are intended to have no victims, only subjects
- imaginary subjects at that.

I hope this boring explanation is unnecessary
but just in case:

Similarity to any real person is very superficial.

Obviously I know very little about the real Terry,
Dalibor, Bruce, Ergo or whoever. I just take awful
liberties with your names and posts as seeds for
an imagined reality.

Nobody here really thinks or writes like my cranky
intolerant programmer character (he's like one per cent
of Ergo on a diet of steroids and ergot).
In such posts I don't intend to criticise any real
person, I just play with a careless phrase, or an
idea or event, or a wild view of our group in general.
Ergo's phrase about housewives surprised me and I ran
with it but there's no serious comment about Ergo himself.

But I guess y'all knew that already.

So if you can, please enjoy.

Re: running scripts with ".script" steals focus from menu

Happens with event plugin. Especially with event.createms.

Re: naughty satire part2

Ozkan, I know it is not so funny for people
who learned English as a second language.

The one about stiletto is written in very old
English. It is based on a famous poem called
"The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner"
in modern English "the poem of an old sailor".

That poem was written in the 19th century
but he uses English from the 17th century
and so did I.

The two by "ergot" use English like a foreigner
who learned English late in life. Sometimes they
know many words but forget to use "a" and "the".

Maybe that is a bad thing to do, but I hope it
is ok here, like with friends. It is only play.

Kind regards, Alan

Hi Alan,

I was trying to joke. It's fun for me reading your mails.
It's better trying to understand your sentences. I like
your style. So don't feel offended <g>
Life shouldn't be only what else can I do with PowerPro.
This is not an off topic for me.

Regards,

Ozkan

Same here - except I'm still using it! I spent a lot of time trying to
get PP up but ran into major problems in converting my extensive
Stiletto config, so reverted. I'm so dependent on my Stiletto
productivity aids that I really need to be sure I could get the great
majority of their equivalents running on PP in say a couple of days
before I risk it again.

What conversion technique are you using please? And your OS? (XP Home
here.)

BTW, as a very kludgy approach, I have had partial success with
entering alarms for same time and date *last* year and choosing '1
year' in the drop-down. But I've had occasional severe crashes when
doing so sometimes too!

Hi Ozkan

O> I was trying to joke.

oops
that's the trouble with plain text
it can be easy to misunderstand the "vibe" of
a message so odd misunderstandings can arise
:-)
