only show during a specific application
is there a way to have the icon bar auto hide and only show during an application? PowerPro can be found here: http://www.ppro.org/ and here: http://ppro.pcrei.com/

If you mean a powerpro commandlist shown as a bar, use the command as the first command in the commandlist: *Format context =appname See help file for more detailed info and how to hide/show from other related commands. Ask if you can't get it working :) David Troesch | Atlanta, GA | ICQ# 2333123 What's happening to America, is big business killing it? http://tinyurl.com/4weom Funstuff: * Lottery: A tax on people who are bad at math. I've decided that I'd like to have a pop message remind me of about 35 birthdays with a couple days notice. Is there a way to enter these without doing each one individually? PowerPro can be found here: http://www.ppro.org/ and here: http://ppro.pcrei.com/
my suggestion would be to create one of them, and then use the 'clone' feature to make however many copies you need, and then just edit each one and change the date/name. if that's not going to be fast enough for you i could probably drum up a script to prompt you for each set of birthdays/names and write out a reminder for each one of them. --- In powerpro-beginners@..., "airolgmd" <airolgmd <at> g...> wrote: > > I've decided that I'd like to have a pop message remind me of about 35 > birthdays with a couple days notice. > > Is there a way to enter these without doing each one individually? > PowerPro can be found here: http://www.ppro.org/ and here: http://ppro.pcrei.com/

I would create a Note for each birthday, then assign it a date category (right-click note, Category | Date | Choose) that's two days before the actual birthday date. Then use *NoteShowToday (perhaps in your startup script) to show only the appropriate notes on a given day. Hope that helps, Jon PowerPro can be found here: http://www.ppro.org/ and here: http://ppro.pcrei.com/
Thanks! The clone idea is working nicely (I shorten my list!)...one of these days I'll learn how to script and figure out all the uses of PowerPro. I did look for a script in the files, thinking someone had to have wanted to do this and created one, but nothing was in there that I could figure out how to use for this purpose. --- In powerpro-beginners@..., "John" <t3321561455 <at> y...> wrote: > > my suggestion would be to create one of them, and then use the 'clone' > feature to make however many copies you need, and then just edit each > one and change the date/name. I ended up doing the clone thing (thanks, John) because I didn't want to have to do them individually and I was able to have it repeat annually. My first birthday is later this month and, hopefully, it will roll over for the January 2007 birthday...we'll see! Thanks for the *NoteShowToday tip though, I think I might have a use for that idea, too! I love the Help file, but it's really still over my head. I looked for a more "practical uses" guide and one that was not so much on the technical side for those that haven't grasped it all yet. I wouldn't mind compiling a guide, if only I knew enough uses and the right way to accomplish them! <grin> Hope this helped someone, too! --- In powerpro-beginners@..., Jon Visick <junqueposte <at> s...> wrote: > > I would create a Note for each birthday, then assign it a date category > (right-click note, Category | Date | Choose) that's two days before the > actual birthday date. Hello. I've been using a basic PowerPro bar for years, but today it has moved from the top of my monitor, to the far top-right and only the date/time is visible. My taskbar is positioned along the right side of my screen, and the PowerPro bar (the small left-hand end that's visible) pops up just under the Start button and above my Quick-Launch icons, instead of it's usual position at the top-centre of my screen. What seems to have caused this was updating my GForce4 chipset drivers (which also stopped my cable modem from working until an uninstallation/re-installation). When I start/stop PowerPro, an outline of the bar's correct position is briefly visible at the top of my screen. I cannot drag the bar to it's correct position, either with or without using Ctrl. It will not move. I can access the Configuration Wizard, and I have tried checking/unchecking the 'Position default bar in taskbar...' option. No difference. If I drag my taskbar to the bottom of my screen, the full PowerPro bar is displayed along the taskbar beside the Start button. I cannot move it from here either. I have tried checking/unchecking the 'Click and drag bar to move' option in 'all bars' in 'setup'. This also makes no difference. Can anybody please help? I'm somewhat puzzled.(Continue reading)
Hello eveyone, a pleasure to join the group, great you're there! This PowerPro-thing is new to me and yes, it's a bit overwhelming. Especially when you're not familiar with scripting and all that. Can someone give me a straight answer as how to make a window move to a specified place on the desk when activated? And: is there some sort of clear survey of commands to be used, how and when? Reading the helps just gets me further from home it seems... A bit of help here would really be appreciated! Thanks a lot Peter PowerPro can be found here: http://www.ppro.org/ and here: http://ppro.pcrei.com/
Hello! Nice to join the group, I hope to learn a lot here..yes it is a bit overwhelming when you start out with PP, so I hope someone can give me an answer: how do I get a window to open at a specified place? And: is there some kind of list with commands and what they do? Thanks for helping! Peter PowerPro can be found here: http://www.ppro.org/ and here: http://ppro.pcrei.com/
