Re: [E-devel] Baffled by entrance.hostname

Woops, forgot to send this back to the mailing list...
Yeh, I wanted to change the wording for the Welcome bit. Either just
machinename or "Youre on machinename". Its all a great big mess at the
moment but it is a pain to theme :) I wont bother with the greeting
anymore. its just a pain in the ass. :P
Thanks again

[E-devel] some EAPI missing in evas ?

hey,

while fighting with the horror of dllimport / dllexport stuff for Windows,
i've remarked that in evas_cache_image.c, all the functions have EAPI,
while they do not in evas_common.h.

Is it normal ?

actually AFAIR we just need them in the .h, not in .c

I agree but raster prefers to add them into the .c to show a bit more that
they are exported.

They are needed in the .c file if the .c file is built without including
the .h file. Rare, but happens.

[E-devel] Discuss about a network manager

hello,

Currently I know 2 projects of network manager:
- my project: Exalt, based on the elf (ecore_loop ...), the project
contains a daemon, a front end and 2 libraries
- the project of Stefan Schmidt, a front end for networkmanager based
on e_nm

I think 2 projects is not a good idea when e17 need more devs ... Exalt
is a solution designed for E17 but ask more work than the project of
Stefan and networkmanager become a "standard" ( some applications as
pidgin have a extension ).

What do you think about these 2 projects ? Continue working on exalt is
a good idea or a waste of time ?

I think the expression "waste of time" is too harsh, but I think exalt
is not the way to go.

I'm not a dev, just an occasional contributor, but here's my point of
view.
As Ubuntu user, i vote for the frontend.
As FreeBSD user, i know that networkmanager isn't ready to run, but
seems that there's a lot of work to have HAL running on FreeBSD,
another vote for the frontend.
