emptybox

Salut jd,

looks like here:

(I change bg to fg, to make it more visible - it's the grey thing
there).

It does not seem to put it there where I placed them in the
awesomerc.

I created entries like that:
    emptybox C { width = 80 }

Maybe I missed something?

Also, setting bg to nothing, does still draw a rectangle there, just not in red but in the standard bg color.

Theoretically there should still be the same 'dot' just in standarg bg color now.

setting bg to the bordercolor would make sure to not show the thing actually.

That that fixes it, is also a sign that is it a curious issue somebit (seems to me at least).

...still waiting for some more reports, and if there is nothing within 1-2 month), I dare to close the bug ;)
(so it's very good you opened it of course in any way, thx!)

new widgets idea?

hi all,

does anybody have an idea for a cool new widget?

I'm still thinking about something 'round'.

with cairo ( http://cairographics.org/samples/ ), i'm sure there
are some cool widgets possible what are not yet in 'awesome'.

PS: I also want to encourage anyone with somekind of C knowledge,
maybe trying to tweak an existing widget or beginning a new one.

Jd created just an emptybox widget, that would also be a good
'prototype' or so.

After the basic setup (like that, just with a different name cmp
to 'emptybox', it's just fun to add in the _draw function cool
stuff with cairo or however :) (all the rest (_new + _tell) is
basically copy/paste).

Hi,

I have been thinking about something ... ;)

A sliding text widget for RSS news,etc.
Actually I am thinking of doing it myself when I find time, but if
someone feels comfortable with Cairo, etc. That would be Awesome.

I can confirm the issue, as can be seen from the bottom statusbar:

the lowerleft corner is colored black, and the rest of the border is colored wth the fg color.
