Re: Limit on Answers for PlonePoPoll

Hmmmm....upgrading my site to 3.1.7 fixed this. Could just be I'm
using a beta product too ;-)

Ah well, it's working, not worries...right? Right.

Thanks!

Actually, I'd forgotten that almost as soon as I read it - since I only have
buildouts to support :-)

What was the product that extended content types?

I remember a product which I downloaded which extended content types.
For instance, links had additional fields. It didn't create new
content types, it just made the existing ones more powerful. It was a
popular product written by a well-known Plonista.

I cannot find this product now. Someone here told me about it. Does
anyone remember this product?

Look at the 'request' object yourself...it has tons of related information.
If this is not sufficient enough: write a small python script modifying the
URL string using basic Python string operations.

Plone 2-ish portlets can still be used through the "classic portlet".

Re: Plone collective subversion access

Hi Tom,

First of all: sorry if this message seems familiar. Had something to do
with authorization to post via Gmane and then to post to the Plone-Users
list. The email from the latter doesn't state that my original message
would be posted, so I tried again.

NOTE: this message does contain some new information.

Same here:

[mark <at> bajor]$ svn cp

https://svn.plone.org/svn/collective/xm.booking/tags/1.0 -m "Tagging 1.0"
svn: Mergeinfo for

to an empty revision range

For what it's worth: I'm using a version 1.5.1 svn client on my Ubuntu

See my posting on the same topic as of some days ago. The SVN server
on plone.org needs an upgrade.

It cannot be a coincidence that my error refers to the same Quills
branch (which has been removed by the way)... I also found an issue
(https://dev.plone.org/plone.org/ticket/1372) which seems to be related
to our problem.

Did you happen find a workaround already?

Ah, sorry. I missed that thread and it also didn't show up in my Google
searches. I was probably searching for the wrong keywords.

Thanks for informing me!

Cheers,

Re: Restricting contents of RichWidget to first couple of lines in PT !

hello
so far, i've been able to fix it thru CSS (div), but yes, ur right, IE and FF both r giving diff. output.
IE is showing more data than FF or this is what i've been noticing so far.

Espen Moe-Nilssen wrote:
A good idea, but IE might give you problems ...

If this actually works, please let me know (I have been trying to do almost the same)...

Den 30. apr. 2009 kl. 13.21 skrev Duncan Booth:

i've a RichWidget field. Now i want in my View PT (which is a Portlet)
to display only first couple of lines of this field, as it looks ugly to
display entire contents inside single Portlet.

I was thinking about how to do something similar and I had an idea, but I
haven't actually tried it so it might look horrible:

1. Use css to style the containing div with your fixed height and overflow
hidden. That chops the text down to what you expect to be about 3 or 4
lines although it will invariably not quite fit right.

2. Create an image which is the same colour as the background but has alpha
channel transparency such that it is completely transparent at the top and
completely opaque at the bottom. The image should be approximately as high
as one line of text.

3. Position a div over the foot of the original text using the fading image
(repeating in the x direction).

Now instead of having a div which you hope displays 4 lines of text but
which often ends up with 3.5 lines instead, you'll show about 3 full lines
and then gently fade out. The overlaid div could also be made clickable to
expand/collapse displaying the full text (or popup a lightbox or whatever).

P.S. Andreas: string slicing doesn't help unless you want unmatched tags,
or worse parts of tags.
