How long can we wait before we don't have enough time to help motivate
enought PLIPs such that the next release is kinda meaningless? I guess
I'd like to see the next meeting go forward so at the very least we can
talk about what PLIPs or potential PLIPs we might be able to use our
pulpit to advocate for. I think it's important that we don't start our
new release schedule with a stall of inertia. It might take a little
active involvement from the FWT as we transition to a more fluid
schedule.

Re: Today's meeting

Also - what's the policy on deferred PLIPs? For example, I'd still like the Dexterity PLIP to be considered in 4.3, and that will probably involve working with the FWT to define what the threshold is and what the timeframes are.

Right! :-) We discussed asking Mark Corum to draft something up so I
sent that message to Mark 3 weeks ago. I never heard back and forgot to
follow up. Sorry.

I just poked Mark again and if I don't hear from him I'll just write and
send it myself.

Sorry again and thanks for the reminder,
Ross

No luck connecting tonight

Calliflower is not accepting my pincode tonight, it looks like only
Yiorgis and Craig managed to get in in the first place.

Meetings...

Hey!
We did not manage to meet this time either and it's been a while since we had a meeting. Would it be possible to
let people know ahead whether we are having the meeting or not? Say for instance Eric or someone else asking
the day before? At the moment I have to wait for a few hours at the office to be present and it's frustrating
when it's for nothing :)

I believe eric canceled the FWT meetings indefinitely until we have
PLIPs on this very list. :-)

Aha! My bad, I thought this only applied to the last meeting :-)

plone.app.theming editor branch

Hi,

Basically, I'm trying to decide whether to put a bunch of effort into finishing it and getting it merged or not. I'd rather do that if it could make it into 4.2 final.

The changes basically provide a Plone UI for something you can do in the ZMI (edit in-ZODB themes) with a nice UI. They are fully backwards compatible, of course.

They introduce two new JavaScript components used on the editor page (only): ACE (http://ace.ajax.org/ - Mozilla license) and probably CoreFive FileManager (http://labs.corefive.com/projects/filemanager/ - MIT license).

Changes still to be made:

 - Integrate file manager to allow basic management of files in a theme
 - Allow any existing theme to be cloned as the starting point for a new theme
 - UI improvements (input welcome)

There's a thread on this on plone-dev where people are generally positive to the idea.

I guess it IS time we had a meeting after all...
I can help with drafting that mail to plone-developers as well if Ross needs help so that we can get things
going a bit...

And just to avoid missunderstandings... I don't think that 4.2 is an option, but 4.3 is.
