validators not translated (eg isEmail)

i'm wondering whether this is a bug or if one needs to write custom
validators in order to have translated error messages.

when adding an event on a fresh plonesite (default language set to german)
and insert some crap for the contactaddress i get an english error message.

Validation failed(isEmail): 'fadf' is not a valid email address.

Products.validation.validators.BaseValidators does not use any messageids.
and a grep for "is not a valid email" did not return any results related to
translation in my buildout.

shouldn't all those base-validator messages be translated?

Sure they should. Nobody felt strongly enough about them to actually do
that yet. Do I spot a volunteer ;)

READY for Testing: Text Search Improvement for Asian Languages

Now we are ready to act for text search improvement.

This was one of topic of google summer of code this year.
Unfortunately, the student has dropped, but the mentor, Manabu Terada
has take that project.  Not the beta program is ready for testing.

any contributors are welcome regardless region, since all text search  
things
are of interest for all languages.

< CREATE TEST ASSERTION FOR TEXT SEARCH IMPROVEMENT >
We appreciate if many people writes a test assertion in their own  
languages
and also provide language specific information.
For example, if the words are separated by space, if the words are  
combined
with particles, if the words changes according other words, if words  
combined
under some conditions, etc.
Also, Unicode specific issues are welcome, of course.
For example, some characters are expressed by single code, but also as
a composite of two codes.  similar to alphabet with accent aigu or  
umlaut.
Such an information nees to be communicated to improve this software.
Though all these instructions are written in English, the this testing  
is not
for English language.

Finding missing translations with LinguaPlone

Hi all,

I'm designated translator for my company, responsible for translating content
created in Dutch into English. LinguaPlone has proven pretty solid for
supporting this - I'm just having trouble tracking what has and hasn't been
translated. I assume most people hit this problem with sites larger than a few
pages - is there a common solution? 

(I'm currently experimenting with a tool that searches the catalog for published
content and displays which languages it has and hasn't been translated to - a
Plone 3 update of this Plone 2 portlet:

- but I thought I'd ask if I'm repeating someone else's work.)

If I *did* build it, do people think it would be suited for the LinguaPlone
package, or does it sound like an additional package?

The next logical step would seem to be to *notify* me when a canonical document
gets updated so that I can update the translation - has anyone covered this?
Maybe a workflow transition action, on publish, or on the 'modified' event?

i18ndude has support for that.  This gives you a list of languages
with missing translations and completed percentage:

cd PloneTranslations
i18ndude chart -o /dev/null --pot i18n/plone.pot i18n/plone-*.po

With 3.2rc1 now released and no more pending RTL changes for final 3.2

major issues were resolved. They are

   4632    RTL: Livesearch results box is messy
   8169    RTL-Profile and personal preferences should be on the left
   8505    RTL.css should have higher precedence

The resolution for the last issue, 8505, also resolved several minor RTL 
issues. These include

   7191    Logo should be on the right side
   7194    Search box is not align to the left

Similar to the issue presented by 8505 under Plone was an css

(spliter) who has resolved several RTL issues, Ofer Weisglass who has

I think I've found a bug, whenever I install a new product, the CSS  
registry gets updated, and for some reason this activates the RTL CSS for  
non-RTL sites, which looks decidedly strange.

Ed, can you check if you can reproduce this? Happy to dig into it more if  
you can't reproduce.
