Re: New Latvian translation

Hi, Dorneles,

I've checked the initial work in, so the existing translations page
(http://plone.org/development/teams/i18n/existing-translations ) should
probably be updated. I was just wondering, is there a pre-made tool to
find out the exact progress of a translation?

Regards,
Reinis

done, updated... :-)

There's i18ndude[1], but it's a PITA to keep that list updated, so
I just removed the status info.

All we need to care about is the language name, its code and
the people who is maintaining it.

Thanks, I also removed the images for old releases. We never kept them
updated anyways.

Plone translations at launchpad.net

Hello,
I want to get any information about where translations of Plone are stored now.

The problem is that I contributed to translation Plone project into Ukrainian last year on launchpad.net. But as I was informed Plone project is no longer open there and the link I translated on ( https://translations.launchpad.net/cmfplone/) gives page not found error now. Launchpad gave me the answer that Plone does not officially use Launchpad for translations. But as I contributed to Plone translation into Ukrainian I want to get to my work somehow.

Can you tell me who is responsible of launchpad.net Plone project translations? And can anyone generate .po files of the closed Plone translation project on launchpad.net? (I'm interested mostly in translation of Plone into Ukrainian).

Thanks,
Olha Pelishok

Lithuanian Plone translation

Hello,

It's already been a year since the last Lithuanian Plone translation
update, that's why I contacted the coordinator Martynas Storasta and we
decided that since now Lithuanuan Plone translations will be coordinated
by me.

What is the procedure for becoming a coordinator, how do I get access to
svn and etc.?

The newest Lithuanian Plone translation is attached.

I'll be waiting for answers and thank you for information.

Translation for Plone have been stored in the Collective Subversion
repository for many years now. See the details at:
http://plone.org/development/teams/i18n/translators-guidelines

That page isn't entirely up to date, but describes the overall process.
There is a small number of new pot files which needs to be translated,
that aren't mentioned on that page yet.

This is very unfortunate. We have never officially used launchpad for
translations but only played around with it using some test data. I was
quite sure that we tightened the permissions in a way that nobody could
accidentally do anything with those, but it seems you were unlucky :(

After better understanding the Launchpad model of projects and products,
we have done a major overhaul of the whole setup and deleted all the old
test data month ago. I fear any work you have committed into launchpad
was lost at that time.

At this point we still cannot use launchpad translations due to our
special approach for using unique message ids, which isn't yet updated
to use the msgctxt introduced in a recent version of Gettext.

[Fwd: Re: [Plone-Users] RTL Sprint Jan. 11 and 12]

Hi all
Right to left issues.

Here is mail from plone users list

Hi all

This weekend we had plone right to left sprint

Few people were attented and there is a really nice process

Main bugs which we fixed is first of all the logo location is now in the
right place (align to the right...)

look here
http://123cheesebiz.web6.zoplo.com/rtlsprint

we are still testing the calender bug
http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/7534
In order to understand whether this is i18n bug or right to left bug
please let us know if you see the colander by your language after Plone
installation and using your language as default (not English)

Still as I expected, there is no process in the arabic translation so we
still need your donation to support this effort and have an arabic
translation to plone.

You can donate here (120$ until this minute)
http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2008-01-06.3007945783/view?searchterm=Weisglass%20Ofer

The main issues we currently working on are the alignment of all the drop
down boxes (adding item to folder for example) and kupu - you don't need
to Know Hebrew or arabic for this...

Kupu is still very difficult to work and still if there any kupu people
interested to help it will be very useful.

I am still missing reporting from people who already installed products
with right to left support and see what bugs they have or mabye it is all
working fine.

The next sprint will be in 6 months.

Anybody interested in helping or have any question regarding translation
or the bugs can send me an email
and want to write again that most bugs are totally visible to plone
experts as soon as they change the preference of the language.

Thank you for all people who participated in the online sprint and we may
do real meeting next time and not just online.

Changing Tabs In Old Plone

Hi;
I am trying to change names of tabs in Plone 2.1.3. I need Spanish. I do not care if they do not post in English. They post in English now. "Members", "News", "Events". Everything else okay with translation. Do not understand why these ones not want to translate. What to do?
TIA,
Victor

The items in the tabs as well as in the navigation are based on actual
content of the site. If all you need is Spanish, you can change the
titles of these folders. If you want to support multiple languages you
need to install LinguaPlone (http://plone.org/products/linguaplone).
