i18ndude v3 and zope/plone conflict

hello,

I've used easy_install to get an i18ndude version 3 and it broked my zope/plone instances. I'm having exactly this problem:

http://www.nabble.com/easy_install-i18ndude-is-dangerous-now-t3651677s6741.html

I've followed the instructions of the post, I've removed the egg from the site-packages, used the "-m" option for installing, recompiled a Zope 2.9.7 (which is the one with problem). But still get the error messages. Does someone knows where can i take a look to fix this. Thanks!

Pablo Ambrosio.

State of i18n for Plone 3.0

Hi,
I translated the latest sentences in PloneTranslations, but I found
*many* English words in the interface. I am scared :(.

As noted in my release announcement for beta3 the translations aren't
fully updated yet.

I'm working on this on the weekends slowly reviewing the changes per
product, so far I have finished most of the smaller products:
ATReferenceBrowserWidget, CMFEditions, CMFPlacefulWorkflow,
PasswordResetTool and PloneLanguageTool.

If you want to help, you can go through all the new packages we added
and verify that all the templates have proper i18n markup... add missing
i18n:domains, put in some i18n:translates and make sure there's no html
code inside a i18n:translate - quoting it via i18n:name...

I have scheduled to look at Archetypes and ATContentTypes this weekend
and will hopefully finish the big Plone domain on the next weekend.

Re: State of i18n for Plone 3.0

Hay Hanno,

Limi wrote in the beta release about
http://plone.org/news/plone-3.0-beta-3-released

"Help us translate! An often overlooked aspect of quality is the quality of the translations of a product. Check out how Plone looks in your language, and submit translation bugs if something seems out-of-place or just plain wrong. Or even better, help us add a new language that isn't supported yet!"

http://plone.org/products/plonetranslations/issues

Hebrew and Arabic were added by me and limi last night

Here is the full list by today
http://plone.org/development/teams/i18n/existing-translations

What you think about orgnizing online sprint for next weekend for i18n tags and tests?

i18n issues found in Plone 3

Hi there,

I noticed some bugs related to i18n in Plone 3 beta 3. I added a new
Plone site, then I added Spanish to the allowed languages in portal
preferences and set it as default language.

The issues I found are:

* I went to the site home page, "Welcome to Plone", and where in English
it says "You are editing the default view of a container. If you wanted
to edit the container itself, go here." I got "Las cookies no están
habilitadas. Debe ${enable_cookies} antes de iniciar la sesión." which
is not the translation of the English text. (See
http://dev.plone.org/archetypes/browser/Archetypes/trunk/skins/archetypes/edit_macros.pt#L39)

* I went to the site home page, and clicked on the "mostrar" menu,
Spanish for "display" and noticed two things:

   1. Where in English it says "• Ítem: Welcome to Plone" I got "• Ítem:
${contentitem}" for the Spanish version.

   2. Where in English it says "Change content item as defaut view..." I
got "Establecer el ítem de contenido <br /> como vista por defecto..."
(notice the <br />).

I am not sure if anyone was aware of these issues, but I didn't find
anything in the issue trackers. I don't know if this is part of the
missing translations update mentioned in the release notes, but I
thought it was good to point these issues out.

Also, I don't know if they are strictly related to PloneTranslations, so
where shall I file tickets for that, at
http://plone.org/products/plonetranslations/issues/ or at
http://dev.plone.org/plone/?

Regards,
Emanuel

Re: i18n issues found in Plone 3

Ofer,

Actually, it doesn't seem to be specific to the Spanish language. For
example, I tried adding French and Portuguese to the allowed languages
list, and set them as default languages in turn, and I got similar results.

Thx for finding those, could you please add them as tickets to
http://dev.plone.org/plone/ using the Internationalization component?
The only one that is already known is the <br /> tag bug
(http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/6464).

The tracker at http://plone.org/products/plonetranslations/issues/ is
for language specific bugs, whereas all general problems should go into
the dev.plone.org/plone tracker.
