i18n involving TAL path with default

Hi all:

I have some TAL that looks like this:

<p i18n:translate="simple">A simple paragraph.</p>

<div tal:content="view/fullname | default">
<span i18n:translate="nobody">Nobody!</span>
</div>

The latest version (v3.1.1) of i18ndude adds the first phrase ("simple") to the .pot file, but not the
second ("nobody"). Is this an error? Maybe mine, or should i18ndude be catching this?

Thanks,
John T.

Language switching not working for anon users - Plone 3.3.1 LinguaPlone 2.4.jarn.1

Hi,

I have a Plone 3.3.1 site running LinguaPlone 2.4.jarn1 We have a
i18n domain for our product (in addition to the "plone" domain).
Language selection works great for logged in users, but is broken for
non-authenticated users.

The site has 4 available languages and sometimes is stuck in it's
default language (EN) and is sometimes stuck in its second language
(FR). Clicking the flags seems to generate the correct urls, but
fails to change the language in the UI.

This problem is present if Zope is accessed directly and also if it's
proxied through apache. We have no caching running in this test
instance.

I have the following options selected in portal_languages

[x] Allow combined language codes like de_DE or en_UK.
[x] Display flags for language selection.
[x] Use language codes in URL path for manual override.
[x] Use cookie for manual override.

How would I go about debugging this issue?

Thanks,

Hmm... language negotiation seems to fail. Though you are not running a cache, this sounds like a cookie problem. Are you running CacheFu (even if inactive)? It might do template caching which is ignorant to the language. Zope can do template in-memory caching with this product. Also there were two language selectors... one for Plone and one for LinguaPlone. If your custom theme is based Plone selector it does not necessarily work with LinguaPlone. ----- Mikko Ohtamaa mFabrik - Freedom Delivered. Site Language not shown in native language

Is there a reason why the languages listed under the Site Language
setting are not shown in their native languages?

I've been testing RTL styling under Plone 4 and noticed that the listed
languages are shown only as the language of the current site language.
It used to be that each language was shown it it's own native language.

Re: Site Language not shown in native language

Sounds like http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/9740 to me.

I suggested that languages were listed both in English and the current site
language, but that wasn't implemented.

Maybe we could list them in three ways: English, current site language,
native language? But that would clutter the UI too much, I guess.

TinyMCE translation

Hi:

Some months ago, I added Basque (eu) translation for TinyMCE in the
collective (both po files and some js files), but I'm testing the
Products.TinyMCE's trunk and I always get the editor in english if
basque is configured to be the site language.

- We need more changes in TinyMCE's code to get basque translations?

- I've seen many more langcode.js files in skins/tinymce/plugins/. Do I
have to translate all those files too?

Best,

Mikel

Hi,

I don't know but French translation seems to work last time I saw.
You can report the issue on the tinymce bug tracker, I don't know
where is it... :)

Thanks for your answer Vincent. I've seen that there is an available languages list in utility.py so I've added "eu" to that list but now TinyMCE is not showing when browsing in basque... I've just reported it at: http://plone.org/products/tinymce/issues/147/view Mikel -- -- Mikel Larreategi mlarreategi@... Danish .po fuzzies

A client has their site translated into Danish, among other languages. We
have realized that the plone.app.locales.i18n.plone-da.po file still has
some "fuzzy" warnings in it (Plone 3.2.2), which is causing some items to
not be translated.

Is there someplace that I can put in a tracking ticket for this? I tried
doing it at http://plone.org/products/plonetranslations/issues (which is
where http://dev.plone.org/plone says to put it) but the version only goes
up to 3.1.4, and is required.

Thanks for any help!

Jessica

Re: Danish .po fuzzies

Hi,

Don't put ticket at http://plone.org/products/plonetranslations, I
think nobody follows this bug tracker unfortunately. So this
mailing-list is the best place to ask for help.
There is not need to create a ticket to update translation.
You can update the translation yourself if you speak Danish, or
contact the last translator, or ask for help on the regional Danish
mailing-list if one exist or contact another Danish translator to do
the job, or the client itself! :-)
