Cannot use language codes in URL path with PloneLanguageTool

BlankHi,

I'm using PloneLanguageTool 0.4. In portal_languagetool, I have set the
option "Use language codes in URL path for manual override" to True. But
when I input the lang code in URL path like
http://localhost:8080/Plone/en/Members/admin/index_html, Not Found error
occurs. It seems language of the site has been changed but it can't find the
desired page if URL contains language code.

This problem is a pain! Any one could help?

Thanks,
Vietdt

slowness of updating local roles

The current implementation of local roles involves updating the catalog
for each object in the tree contained by the object being assigned the
local role. When there are thousands of objects in the tree, this
operation gets very CPU intensive.

I have set subtransactions in portal_catalog to 100 on my production
site for now - need to do more testing, but this should help.

Any ideas on how to improve this?

Thanks,
Gerry

SVN checkin messages

Hi folks,

we aren't receiving SVN checkin messages for both AT and Plone
since reestablishment of plone.org... :-(

Perhaps something was forget or left behind? Or is it schedulled
to back along with ViewCVS interface?

Cheers,

PLIPs/Releases Cleanup

Hi folks,

I just did a major cleanup at http://plone.org/development/plips,
in a try to unmungle the current Plone project development and
documentation process...

But there's still work to do, the next steps are:

- Remove blank PLIPs/Releases flying around (inside /newsitems,
/events/community and possibly other places) - requires Manager
access;

- Convert the remaining old Wikis and Documents to the new PLIP
content type;

- Review PLIPs content and workflow state;

- Review Plone Release list (/development/releases);

- Review the current assigned PLIPs for each Release;

- Release new Plone versions, of course... ;-)

Any help is appreciated! :-)

Cheers,

copy support for portal_actions

Hi,

I have found a large problem in pickling my Plone sites. There would
seem to be a python function embedded in portal_actions:

This can also be recreated when trying to paste one of these between sites.

Does anyone have any advice as to a fix??

[ANN] Archetypes 1.3.1 RC3 released

The Archetypes 1.3 bugfix 1 release candidate 3 is ready for download.

https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=75272&package_id=104544&release_id=280597

If this one has no important issues it will become 1.3.1 final at end of
  week 46. Please help testing!

CHANGES TO RC2:
- configureable behaviour of references on copy added,
- nicer boolean widget,
- fix manage_delObjects of BaseFolderMixin.
Details below.

There are also minor issues left in the bugtracker. Feel free to
contribute with patches. Also one test fails. It would be great if
someone with i18n/charset and sqlstorage knowledge can look over it.

reference-copy patch reverted.

so, the idea was good, the implementation not tested enough. there are
too many side effects if a reference got copied with its object. after
geoff spent several hours struggeling with this new implemenation kapil
reverted it. and thats fine.

the default behaviour is a defined one, so its not a bug to not copy
refs. But: In fact in some use cases it is needed to copy references.
take it as it is: in 1.3.x references are not copied. we will change
this in 1.4.

 <at> geoff:
can you please describe the problems of duncans patch?

 <at> duncan:
it would be great if you can help to get this feature in 1.4.

thx for all your patience

Re: reference-copy patch reverted.

> <at> geoff:
> can you please describe the problems of duncans patch?

Yes, there are a number of issues:

1) When an object is copied, a folderish attribute containing its forwarded
references gets copied along with it. References have UIDs just like
everything else, and these new references have the same UIDs as the
corresponding references for the copied object. The original AT behavior is
to delete these copies, but the patch doesn't. So all of a sudden UIDs are
no longer unique. Very bad.

2) The patch does a little surgery on the source IDs for catalog brains
corresponding to a few references. The problem is, it doesn't fix all the
things in the catalog that need fixing. So although the source ID is
corrected, other functions (e.g. getURL) don't work correctly. This leads
to other strange behavior down the pipes.

3) It's possible to attach references to references. The patch doesn't deal
with any such possibility.

4) The enable/disable copying "feature" is not very well thought out. For
the use cases that have been discussed so far, it sounds like it might be
reasonable to want some classes to have their references copied when the
objects are copied. However, it's not clear that you would want that
behavior for all classes. Some people have written classes that do NOT
expect references to be copied. If you try to mix their products with
products that DO expect their references to be copied, you're screwed. A
global switch doesn't seem to be desirable or useful. In addition, there
hasn't been any reason given why you would ever want a site manager to
