Re: Akismet question

Akismet has been working fine for me. I don't think you should be using the
same API key on more than one site.

Re: Akismet question

I've been using the same API key for both of my blogs and it's working
fine. As far as I know, there aren't restrictions about someone using the
same API key on more than one blog.

Re: Akismet question

Akismet is working for me also. I'm only using 1 API key for 1 domain.

So, what happens if you use the same key more than once?

Re: Akismet question

I'm using the same key on two sites, and I checked (somewhere) that you
were allowed to before I did it.

Well it's days i get on 3 blogs not less than 100 message per day of
spam (large huge comments full of links). Now i think about it I
started to use the Ozh plugin Auto Moderate Comments, so comments on
older post goes automatically to moderation queue... maybe there is a
conflict with this plugin.

Thanks for the answer guys

Re: Akismet question

Well, it seems like you can use it on two different sites, so long as you
own the site. If there are mass amounts of users using it, they would
definitely catch on!

Akismet is free for personal use. If your site is used to generate income,
then you are supposed to buy a commercial API key. If you have 1000
non-commercial blogs, then you can use Akismet 1000 times with the same API
key. You aren't cheating anyone by doing this, rather you are helping to
improve Akismet and that makes it more attractive for commercial purposes
and as a result, selling more commercial API keys.

Re: Akismet question

It should be clarified that "generate income" is actually $500 p/m or
more. Most peoples Google Ads or sponsored links probably won't hit that
(if you are, well done), but do count as income.

Just thought I'd head off any confusion on that point ;)
