SnipSnap source downloads

Hello,

What is the status of source downloads of the most recent SnipSnap?
I've been trying to follow the situation now that Leo and Stephan have
ceased development - I seem to recall that some folks are running
their own modified builds. The snipforge and fraunhofer SVN sites are
both down, and the snipsnap sourceforge site isn't offering sources
(only a pointer to the binary downloads at snipsnap.org). This means
that at the moment I'm running several web sites on binary-only
stiffware - not an ideal situation.

Is there a notional development trunk at the moment?

Re: SnipSnap source downloads

This is the first message on this list I've seen in maybe a year or two.

It looks like snipsnap is dead, unfortunately. Too bad, I really like
it.

I have one here from October 2006, so yes, you're probably right. At
least this list still works.

Various people have worked with the source code and spun off their own
modified versions - I keep coming across them online. There is a
SourceForge project called snipsnap which claims, as of 2007-11-05,
that there is a development effort. (User angel-o-sphere - if you're
out there, it would be great to hear from you.) Otherwise, I'll start
pinging messages to the owners of these bespoke installations to see
if they have the original code and/or are willing to share their
versions.

Since I have several web sites using SnipSnap, to start with I really
just want to have the source code and be able to build the system from
scratch, as insurance - at the moment all I can get are the JARs.

Re: SnipSnap source downloads

Hokay ... it looks as if Paulo Abrantes (www.pabrantes.net) has been
bashing away on enhancements to SnipSnap for nearly a year. And he has
a working SVN repository. I've just checked out the latest release,
and will attempt a build when I have a moment.

What I don't know is how much of the stuff in /lib is still locked
away. Radeox is only there in binary, but Stephan's SVN repository at www.radeox.org
appears to be live. Most of the stuff in *it's* /lib directory
appears to be vanilla open source stuff...
