Yes, I did consider using a generic regexp string to hide pages, but I
think it would be easier to use a ~~UNDERCONSTRUCTION~~ tag than having
to rename a page.

Exactly.

Many inactive users registering?

Hello

I have a public wiki with a lot of users registering. But most of them
dont publish anything. It feels as if they were spammers, but I dont
see any activity.

Does anyone know that behavior? Should I do something against that?

Sebastian.

Re: Many inactive users registering?

Yes this is happening to me too. Some registrations, but no activity. I know they are some kind of spammers or bots, becouse their email is something like this: kjksjskjsksjksjsk <at> gmail.com.

I haven´t done anything yet with those accounts.

The blog plugin implements this functionality using ~~DRAFT~~, IIRC when it's
installed this should work for all pages, even if you're not using the plugin
to create a blog.

My Company wants smth. like ~~UNDERCONSTRUCTION~~ or ~~DRAFT~~ too. I
tried the Blogs Draft Plugin several times and it never did what I
wanted: Hide Pages from every body + indexer and search.

I just wrote a plugin for ~~UNDERCONSTRUCTION~~. It is available from:
http://www.inetsoftware.de/download/dokuwiki-plugins/underconstruction/underconstruction.tgz

Please consider it as highly BETA and test it. I'm open to feedback ;)

My Plugin ads some ACL Options to make shure that only the user who
created the page will be able to see and edit - except when there is a
group who has higher rights, eg the admins or manager.

The Effect is: everyone with READ-only rights ( e.g. <at> ALL ) wont see this
page - except in the page-names result of the search.

Sinc.
Gerry

P.S. the Plugin should add a Toolbar Button too.

Re: Many inactive users registering?

It would be nice if the user manager could track the number of edits a
user had made. Then, it would be easy to order the member list by
contributions and delete those with 0 contributions. It would also be
fun to see who your top ten users are.

Thanks Gerry!

I installed it and it works, but maybe a litte too well, even the person
who created the page is denied access ... :)

When a page with ~~UNDERCONSTRUCTION~~ is saved, both <at> ALL and the user
gets an ACL of 0 in acl.auth.php.

Maybe because we use Active Directory groups to set ACL's?

notice when its done and you can update.

Ok - please update. I didn't include the groups of the user who created
the page to decide which top-most ACL he gets. I hope it is fixed now :)
if not: If there are other problems, we can discuss them outside of this
mailing list - so that we don't do spamming inside :D
