I know you have the restructure on your minds and it's (very) possible
my junk filter caught any reply, but anyone happen to know what
~~pluginrepo~~ is?

It is this one: http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:plugins:repository
It is not available, but a similar one is:
http://wiki.splitbrain.org/plugin:data

We should probably think about adding this question to the FAQ page, as
it gets asked quite a lot ... ;-)

Thanks, Anika...I think I may have even looked at the data plugin but
kept moving on when it appeared to use a database...just seemed
antithetical to Dokuwiki. :-)

Some small points:

Are there any tools (plugins) that show orphaned pages, pages with dead
links, etc? (Just like MediaWikis "special" namespace.) Could be handy
while the reorganization takes place.

Concerning plugins: How will the development stuff be seperated from
user stuff? Are there guidelines for that? The most logical thing would
be to keep small plugins under "plugin:" and give bigger plugins a
seperate page under "devel:" !?

To get more hands, one could invite all plugin-developers/
wiki-contributors directly to fix their own pages. I guess not all are
on this list. Then again one would need good guidelines, so they know
what to do.

With the Vim Tips Wiki ( http://vim.wikia.org ) (a quite similar task,
reorganization of a _big_ knowledge base) we made extensive use of
  * "boilerplates" to mark pages and
  * written guidelines/policies for contributors.
It was a bit overdone, but in the end it was quite successful. Might be
worth to think about for dw-reorganization too.

Re: Proposals for a cleanup on the splitbrain wiki

Hi Andi,

Just in reference to this...

"Pages should be in Document Style, Discussions and questions should
be removed and information should be integrated into the document
instead"

I don't know if you're planning this already (since you're saying
"removed"), but you may wish to dedicate a namespace to discussions,
move the current questions there, and link to it from the originating
page.

The way I implement this is a concatenation of :talk_namespace:$ID,
and I have a template function that automatically generates a link.

Otherwise I'd think you'll still find people adding questions to pages
once you've cleaned them up (because it's quick and anonymous.)

Just a thought,

Re: Proposals for a cleanup on the splitbrain wiki

Sorry,

I missed this line somehow:
"The discussion namespace is removed completely. Most of it is really
outdated and predates the introduction of the forum. Discussion should
take place in the forum now."
