Hello Todd,

The dokuwiki webpage about the mailing list
http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:mailinglist describes this very brief:
>> * When answering don't quote the whole thread, just leave some context to
>> understand what you are relating to
>> * Write your answer below the quoted text (this make it easier to follow

Bottom posting doesn't mean: the whole post you are replying to at the top and
then answer at the bottom. It means: Only the snippet from the orignal mail
that you want to answer (or have more questions) as a quote (lines starting
with "> ") directly in front of your text. This makes it very easy to get
the point.

This is only a problem with mailreaders that are not aware of web standards.
In a "good" Mailreader all quotes are rendered in another color so it is very
easy to read only the new text -- and use the quote only if the context is
unclear.

> it makes it

Yes, if one don't uses regular quoting with "> " it is very difficult to

Error downloading with darcs and one question

Hello!

Today I want to update my dokuwiki with the newest version from darcs. But
while downloading, I get this error message: (the filename is different in
any try)

What can I do? At Feb. 15th it works fine. (Same command, it's a .bat-file)

It must always be downloaded, but I guess you mean you don't want to
see the "File Save As" dialog. For security reasons, DW sends
application mime types as attachments, browsers tend to put up "File
Save As" windows for attachments. Check out the splitbrain blog for
details on how to use an "inline" PDF for a scripting attack.

Do you get a checkbox in the bottom of the dialog for "Always do this
with this type of file" or similar wording? That will allow you to
change the browser's default for that MIME type.

AW: Re: Error downloading with darcs and one question

Thanks,

@Bob:
but then ALL pdfs from ALL sites will be downloaded to temporary directory
and then opened. With Adobe reader, and not with the plugin. So it's not the
same.

@Chris:
I know how it works :-) I want to know how I can change this :-) The
dokuwiki is only in our intranet, so the change of an attack is unbelievable
low :-)

I'm not, but if your management decided to buy new hardware and a
proprietary wiki system, they will probably be happy to buy support,
too ;-). I recommend asking Atlassian to provide such a script.

Ask the right question and get the right answer ;)

There is no cofigurable option within DW to change the behaviour I
described. However, you can edit lib/exe/fetch.php to change what
happens. The code concerned is around line 112 in my version of the
file ...

   //application mime type is downloadable
   if(substr($mime,0,11) == 'application'){

Actually, if you bought confluence, you do get some support...we went
through something similar but didn't have a large amount of content.
One of the biggest gotchas is going to be if you've added plugins to
dokuwiki that aren't available in Confluence. There were only 2 reasons
why our company switched (over my objections but I was glad they finally
adopted any wiki...and I don't mean Sharepoint). 1) the security model
in Confluence seems more robust and easier to manage. 2) it had a
wysiwyg plugin (I work with a bunch of developers and you'd've thought
they'd be ok with using wiki markup...not like it's difficult)...this
