Calling all User Experience Contractors!!!!

Hey, 

I’m currently looking for a User Experience Consultant for a 1 month
contract ideally starting on Monday 5th December through the festive period.
Fantastic project working for a not for profit company specializing in
helping businesses and the public sector save on energy costs. 

Looking for a consultant who is experienced in the full UCD process, role
has a mix of research and UX design. Important you are a self starter who is
able to interpret a brief, gathering user and stakeholder requirements and
really getting a deep understanding for my clients business and the project
they are undertaking. Important you can produce excellent wireframes in a
short amount of time. 

Budget is not fantastic however this is a fantastic contract for a client
who really makes a huge difference to our environment. 

£300-£325 a day.

[Sigia-l] User Reseracher-2 Weeks-ASAP (Not For Profit-Environment)

Calling all User Researchers!!!

I have an exciting 2 week research project for a not for profit eco
friendly, energy saving client. 

My client is doing a huge redesign of their website, taking a new strategic
direction on their original site. They’re looking for a User Researcher for
2 weeks to conduct user interviews on both existing and non existing users
of the website. You will also be looking at analytics and conducting
workshops with the business stakeholders. 

You will present your findings back to my client and help them use the
research findings to inform their design decisions.

The project is kicking off today, so really looking for a User Researcher to
start ASAP. Tomorrow, 6th December would be fantastic.

Day Rate is £300-£325 (Non for profit client, hence rate is lower than
market average.)

Calling UX Freelancers!

For those of you who are still available I am looking for a Senior User
Experience Architect to work on a project involving a large mobile phone
retailer (working on client-site) for an Agency. 

The project will involve carrying out the interaction design across mobile
and tablet platforms. You will also interface directly with stakeholders to
translate the requirements into design concepts.

In terms of personality type, I am looking for someone who has gravitas and
who is persuasive. As in many corporations stakeholders do not always
communicate with each-other and the environment can feel somewhat chaotic.
You must be able to navigate the politics and consult the stakeholders on
why/what/how the interaction design should be carried out. 

Start date: Immediate

Duration: 3 months

Rate: up to £500 per day

[Sigia-l] User Experience Contract, 1 Month+, £400, Consumer Charity (New Product)

Calling all User Experience Contractors!!!

I’m currently recruiting for a 4 week (extension likely) User Experience
contractor to work on a very exciting new online product across web and
social media. Product is aimed at the 16-18 year old target market, and is a
higher education product which will help them make that big choice around
further education, ie; university, what courses to apply for,
apprenticeships etc. Very exciting product as its working on a product from
scratch. 

The contextual research, personas have been done and they’re looking for you
to take that research and develop the UX for their online product, creating
the core User Journeys, wireframes and prototypes, might need to User Test
the product too. Important you have an understanding of the youth market,
16-18 years old as you’ll be designing an engaging experiences for this
market, need to make the experience memorable so they’ll tell their friends
and ultimately continuing using it. This role is a client facing role,
dealing with multiple stakeholders so it’s important you have good
stakeholder management skills.

Worth noting my client is a very well known established brand who is a
classified consumer charity so an awesome client to work for.

This is a one interview process and they’re ultimately looking for someone
to start ASAP, saying that they will wait for the right person. If you have
a few days off around Christmas but are free for a month then don’t worry
this will be fine.

Pervasive Information Architectures as Architectures of Meaning for
Complex Cross-channel Systems

Workshop at the 10th International Conference on Pervasive Computing
(Pervasive 2012)

June 18, 2012, Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

This workshop will reflect on how the practice of information
architecture (IA) as “the structural design of shared information
environments” has been changing in the past few years under the influx
of media convergence and ubiquitous and pervasive computing, outline how
IA is uniquely positioned to help improve the design of successful user
experiences and customer journeys in pervasive, cross-channel
environments, move the discourse on IA towards indeterminate problem
solving, and help establish a common language and grammar for both
practice and research in the field.

The goals of the workshop are: 1) to reframe information architecture
and its role as the enabling layer for pervasive systems where
information permeates physical space and products become cross-channel
services; 2) to tackle established problems within the field with a
