[Sigia-l] Best way to create scrollable web pages in Visio with annotations that also print well?

Dear Siggies...

I'm looking for tips and tricks from our IA community
on the best way to use Visio to develop scrollable web
pages (1024 resolution), with detailed annotations,
that also print well. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated. Specifics such as page setup
options would be great. If you can send me a Visio
template, I'll buy you a beer :) I'll also be happy
to post a summary to the list.

Thanks!
Jodi

Please join the NYC IxDA community for our July event:

"The Naked Interface—Liberating Brain, Body, and Digital Interactions"

Throughout the electronic age, people have become accustomed to
interacting with digital media indirectly, mediated through screens
and peripheral devices. But now, as digital technology becomes
invisibly embedded in everyday things, the "feeling" of everyday
things is also increasingly becoming embedded in digital technology.

In many senses, physical objects are becoming more important. In an
immediate way, they can help us define new systems of relationships
with digital information. Luke Williams, Creative Director at frog
design, examines how perceptions and gestures formed through our
experiences with physical products can effectively bring liberty to
the relationship between brain, body, and digital media interface.

Luke will cover:

- how patterns and archetypes from product design now frame new ways
for people to orientate themselves around information;

- the principle of stimulating one sense through another to create
multi-sensory interactions; and

- new developments at the collision point between "real world" objects

[Sigia-l] Call For Proposals

CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS – Submission Deadline August 15, 2008

Information Design in Online Multi-Ethnic Contexts

Edited by Filipp Sapienza (White Mouse Solutions)

Increased use of global communication networks by multi-ethnic users involves perspectives and
practices that introduce new questions for information designers, usability practitioners, content
managers, developers, information architects, and technical communicators. These questions may include:

How do multi-ethnic users do electronic communication differently from those who see themselves as
belonging primarily to one culture?

What kinds of electronic media forms, information design problems, and usability issues emerge when
developing content for multi-ethnic users?

What does a website, mobile environment, information architecture, or networked application for a
multi-ethnic group look like?

Which methods are best suited for analyzing these groups and the media forms?

How does the technological infrastructure of online media guide or constrain multi-ethnic use?

How do technology standards, government restrictions, and business practices affect the creation and
use of media for these groups?

How are information architecture, content management, and/or usability practices changed when working
with such groups?

How can the teaching and training of information designers (including web designers, usability
