Re: [Sigia-l] Style guides

Hi Dan,

We have written an article titled "Creating & Maintaining a Web Style
Guide"
http://www.pebbleroad.com/article/creating_maintaining_a_web_style_guide/
Although it is not as expansive, but it might give you a starting point.

[Sigia-l] Style Guides

Dan Chamberlain asked: Has anyone created and enforced a style guide
that is broader scope than
screen graphics?

Naturally, you'll want to have definite parameters on use of the
company logo. This includes size, colors, allowed "mutations" (if any),
how close it can be to any other page element, and whatever else you
deem necessary. It's very important to have a copy style guide. We use
AP style along with certain company style items, such as what to call
certain things, various corporate language blurbs, etc. You can try the
Chicago Manual of Style (more academic), NY Times, or whatever. Copy
style guides are especially critical in providing a unified tone and
voice for all--Web, print, broadcast, etc.--communications media.
Remember, a style guide is just that. For nuts and bolts grammar rules,
some of which are not up for grabs, you can use resources such as the
Gregg Manual and others (your choice).

[Sigia-l] Twin Cities UX Meetup next Tuesday at MONTE CARLO (bring your side project to show others!)

Apologies for cross posting. And I might add that Kristi is being mighty optimistic about the use of the
venue's patio - there have been rumors of snow this weekend.

next Tuesday at MONTE CARLO (bring your side project to show others!)

Hello UX folks --

The next Twin Cities UX Meetup group will meet May 6 at the Monte Carlo (located in the Warehouse District).
I'm sorry to keep changing location, but I'm trying to find a good place with space that's reliably quiet
(not an easy task). The Monte Carlo may be a good bet -- AND, they have a HUGE outdoor patio.

The topic will be show us all your side projects in 10 minutes or less. Show us what defines Minneapolis'
creative community -- everyone has a side project. At this month's MNteractive UX meetup, we want to see
your side project - in 10 minutes or less. Bring your laptops, powerpoints, visuals, anything! As usual, a
few local professionals who have worked on this topic will help jump-start the conversation.

A big "Thank you" to Kevin Farner of Gomoll Research + Design for picking up the tab for our last meetup.

Here are details of the meeting:

Tuesday, May 6
5:00-7:00 p.m.
NEW LOCATION: at the Monte Carlo in MInneapolis' Warehouse District:

Located:

219 3rd Avenue North, Minneapolis, 55401

Re: [Sigia-l] Sigia-l Digest, Vol 44, Issue 4

You may also want to consider using a letter index (A B C etc.), so your users can skip to a letter. Taqging is a
great idea to allow categorical searches or filtering per Jim's recommendation.
