Problem with addMenuCollection

Hi All,

I have an error with this line in a StudentApp >> viewEdit method

e cell addMenuCollection: (self observee parent specialities)
selectedToAspect: #name of: self observee speciality.

The observee is a Student and his parent is an application Model who has
a collection of specialities. My intention is to select a speciality
from a drop down menu list, and store it in the student speciality
instance variable. The list shows the speciality names.

The error I get is: Speciality(Object) >> doesNotUnderstand: #readStream

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

Francisco

Are those specialities just strings? If not, use longer version:

 	#addMenuAspect:collection:selectedToAspect:of:

In first aspect you put a name of the method to return a string to
appear in a menu.

Hope this helps

No, I think that's the problem.

Re: Problem with addMenuCollection

Thanks Janko,

This version works pretty well

"e cell addMenuAspect: #name collection: (self observee parent
specialities) selectedToAspect: #speciality of: (self observee)."

Best regards,

Francisco

Re: Aida-based single page web application

Hello,

The text was slightly extended, but the part about implementation has
not changed. It is completed now, I will probably only correct
mistakes in the future.

Of course, that would be no problem. Is extracting the Aida part as
PDF document enough? Or is there a wiki for Aida where I could place
it, so that anybody could improve it? Or should I export it as HTML
pages? Just tell me please what is the proper way.

Cheers,
 Jarda

Our community as a sponsor of ESUG

Dear all,

I'm sure you will agree that this is a good idea: our community just
became a silver sponsor of ESUG and we will have our AIDAweb logo among
other sponsors on the ESUG conference and on their website.

ESUG as you know is the most active organization promoting Smalltalk and
organizing the yearly event when we can meet, not to mention their
support to the promising projects, so every Smalltalker and specially we
who earn and live from Smalltalk, all we owe something back to our
organization and ESUG is really worth it.

I first thought to sponsor them in a name of my company, but soon
realized that sponsoring them under the flag of Aida/Web would be much
more effective.

My company therefore just paid the amount for silver sponsorship, but it
would be nice if others join the initiative as well so that we can raise
the level to gold or even platinum level.

Best regards
Janko

[AIDA6beta2][bug][fix] pageFrameWideNoNavigationWith: anElement title: aString

Hi,

pageFrameWideNoNavigationWith: anElement title: aString stopped
working in 6beta 2.

Reason:
DNU is no more used to delegate from WebApplication to WebStyle.

Simple remedy:
implement

WebApplication>>pageFrameWideNoNavigationWith: anElement title: aString
self style pageFrameWideNoNavigationWith: anElement title: aString

This may apply to some more methods.

Cheers,

Herbert mailto:herbertkoenig <at> gmx.net
