Editing "AutoFill items"

I get many suggestions from AutoFill that are wrong or unneeded.

I dislike long lists on dropdown menus.

Where are these items stored so I can go to it and edit them?

Re: Editing "AutoFill items"

Jim-
Sorry for the inconvenience this caused! The first thing I would do
would be to open up the AutoFill preferences pane, switch to the
AutoComplete tab, and make sure that the "Always save submitted forms
for autocompletion" box was not checked. (It sounds like you want to
do the same thing for the "always save submitted forms for autoFill"
box in the other tab of this pref pane.)

If that box is checked, the contents of every form you submit is
going to be saved and added to the lists we're matching your typing
against. You can also clear those lists entirely in this pane, or
disable AutoFill and/or AutoComplete entirely.

Sincerely,

How do I block ads ??

I'm using the latest OmniWeb as my primary browser.

I keep hitting web sites that have a running video on the first page,
or a banner that blinks incessantly, or other similar annoyances.

Where are the switches in OW that will shut off these intruders?

Re: How do I block ads ??

Jim -

I'm not sure which site is causing problems. Do you have an
example? I block most ads and am horrified when I run other
browsers and see what crud I'm missing.

Click on OmniWeb / Preferences / Show All and look at the bottom
under Global Site Preferences. Click on Ad Blocking.

I have mine set to
Block pop-up windows only when not requested
Show blocked pop-ups in status bar checked
Animate images once
Block images and online content
    All three boxes checked.

If I find I need to see pictures on a specific site, I use site
preferences to override what I just set globally. To do that,
click the "preferences icon" near the bookmarks icon (it looks
like the Systems Preferences icon with a light switch). You can
get page info there and set preferences for a site. For instance,
last night I needed to use a site that had content coming from
a third-party site, so I unchecked that option for that site.
A little blue dot shows what you have overridden.

I hope that helps. Blocking ads changes your whole view of the
usefulness of the web.
