Could you please try to run the following command from a terminal:

  time /usr/share/cherokee/admin/server.py 4000 /etc/cherokee/ 
cherokee.conf

In case something goes wrong, you'll see the error (python backtrace  
probably).

Server 0.10.1 running.. PID=31160 Port=4000

Seems to work just fine. I guess I tried this before but was not sure
what to expect.

Hi,

I have just requested the alioth.debian.org (the Debian GForge)
maintainers to create the pkg-cherokee group, so we can easily
group-maintain Cherokee (instead of stepping over each other). I also
created a Git repository and imported all of the versions I have
uploaded to Debian since 0.5.0 (yes, keeping history is nice 
). The repository is not yet public, of course, as I'm waiting for it
to be created at Alioth. 

Leonel (and whoever else is interested): Please get a user account at
Alioth and tell it to me, I'll add you to the project as soon as it is
approved. 

For building the packages, I'm using the "git-buildpackage"
infrastructure - It is quite easy to follow, take a look at its howto
[1] as well.

I have so far worked with Cherokee's tarballs, but we might play with
tracking it straight out of its SVN tree (or we could even push
Cherokee into the twenty-first century and jump from SVN to Git!  )

Hello, I am migrating from apache2 to cherokee, I had now problems
with almost all my sites: Moodle, Django, Drupal and Cakephp all can
work just great.

But I Have problems trying to apply the webserver for a mercurial
repo, now it's working on http://hg.noentrar.net with apache2, here
it's the content of the virtual-host conf file

This would require a new matching rule for method? The header regex
match rule is close, but I guess it's not possible to figure out the
method from the headers?

Yes, a new match rule would be required, indeed.

I must admit that I did never think of such rule type. Do not worry  
much anyway, I'm planing to add it to trunk within the next few days  
(so it'll be released with the upcoming Cherokee 0.11).
