no srv records being looked up in pre4 ?

Hi,

While debugging some problems I have with linphone 1.0.0-pre4, it
appeared to me that when I called sip:user <at> domain without a proxy,
linphone did not lookup the srv records in DNS.

What I would expect, and what linphone 0.12.2 is doing, is that the DNS
would be queried for the _sip._udp.domain srv record. pre4, however,
only looked up domain's a record, and tried to connect to the resulting
IP number. Which differs from the name in the srv record.

I don't know whether this is desired behavior for linphone 1.0 or not,
by the way.

Thank you,

Remco

Re: no srv records being looked up in pre4 ?

Hi,

FWIW we recently had a bug in Debian about this, see:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=275966
The linphone's developer told me that it should be fixed in a (more or
less) near future.

Regards,

Samuel.

Re: [Linphone-developers] Linphone 1.0pre4 crashes on start

Hello,

This bug should be fixed in pre5 release.
As a workaround, I think removing the old config file ~/.gnome2/linphone or
~/.linphonec should avoid this problem.
Thanks for reporting it.

Re: Debian 1.0 Version and registration on a asterisk system

Hello,

There is no correct config file. If you are using the gnome version, use the
configuration box to setup your proxy, if you are using the console version,
then type 'proxy add' to add a new proxy configuration. (availlable only for
version>=1.0.0pre4 ).

DI-604 firewall router

Hi!

I just installed linphone yesterday, as I read somewhere that it might
work with aMSN over sip, which microsoft eventually uses for their
Messenger.

However, I am using an external router, DI-604, with NAT firewall.

My question is:

Is it at all possible to use linphone with such a configuration?

I have forwarded UDP ports 5060 and 7080 to my internal ip address,
which I have received from the router (192.168.0.149).

I have tried all kind of configuration "mixes" in the linphone
Preferences. But I get no response when calling - no signal.

The internal siphomatic test went ok, though.

If somebody of you have a similar setup, I would be very glad to learn
how to deal with this firewall issue.

BTW, I use Gentoo stable and have linphone-0.10.2 (+alsa -doc +gnome
+gtk +gtk2 +nls +xv) and libosip-0.9.7 installed.

linfan

Adding Proxy Require to SIP Registration

Hello,

I'm trying to interface with some nortel sip gateways from behind a
firewall. These gateways support the "Proxy-Require" attribute when
registering with the SIP gateway. Here's an example of a nortel client
connecting with the proxy require. To my knowledge it only needs to be
included onces at registration. The gateway handles the rest. libosip
0.9.7 supports this setting from what I can tell, but I'm looking to add
it to the linphone configuration file if I can. What would be really
easy is if the linphone configuration files supported adding arbitrary
attributes to certain messages. I can only see this being useful for
registration, but perhaps there are other particular uses which it could
apply to as well. Anyways, here's the dump of an example session for
those who need it.
