[ANN] libdvbpsi 0.1.2

Hello,

The VideoLAN team is very pleased to announce libdvbpsi version 
0.1.2. This release is a minor maintenance release, featuring:

* Miscellaneous portability fixes (especially for Win32 and Mac OS X),
* A bug fix for over-complicated PMT sections on which some programs 
might choke.

[ANN] libdvdcss 1.2.3

The VideoLAN team is delighted to announce libdvdcss version 1.2.3 
("soleil"), a portable DVD access library.

This release fixes many issues with the Windows port, in particular 
it can now properly decrypt the title key, and can run in 
non-administrator mode. Additionally, it also works around a bug with 
some drives where the disc key decryption failed.

[ANN] VideoLAN Mini Server 0.2.3

The VideoLAN team is happy to announce version 0.2.3 of the VideoLAN
Mini Server (VLMS). The main enhancements are :

  * VLMS now generates valid CRCs,
  * Embedded A/52, DVD SPU and LPCM elementary streams now have a 
different stream type, to avoid a collision with streams coming from 
the American television which used to same numbers differently.

Please note that VLMS 0.2.3 requires VLC (VideoLAN Client) version 
0.4.5 or later.

[ANN] VideoLAN Server 0.4.0

The VideoLAN team is thrilled to announce version 0.4.0 of the VideoLAN
Server. This release brings major new features, including :

* Language descriptors for audio and subpicture streams,
* IPv6 multicast support,
* Many portability fixes, in particular it now works under *BSD and
Mac OS X,
* Dynamic adding of channels and programs,
* Save/restore configuration files,
* RTP output support,
* Daemon mode with syslog logging,
* Start-up script execution,
* WinTV DVB-S support,
* Embedded A/52, DVD SPU and LPCM elementary streams now have a

[ANN] miniVLCS 0.2.0 released

The VideoLAN team is proud to announce miniVLCS version 0.2.0.

It has been rewritten in C++ and is now more easily extendable.

Major improvements are :
    - IPv6 support
    - unlimited channel number
    - auto reloads its config when modifying configuration file
    - some command line support
    - colors for stdout logging

[ANN] VideoLAN Client 0.4.5

The VideoLAN team is excited to announce version 0.4.5 "(insert a 
joke here)" of VLC, the VideoLAN Client, a multimedia player for 
MPEG, DVD, VCD and DivX for most operating systems.

VLC 0.4.5 is a minor maintenance release. The most important 
enhancements include:

* Linked with libdvdcss 1.2.3, which allows Win32 users to read DVDs 
in non-administrator mode, and fixes other Win32 bugs,
* Brand new interface for iPaq familiar Linux, and support for Qt/embedded,
* Major enhancements to the BeOS port,
* New --iface-addr option to select which interface to use for 
multicast streams,
* RTP input support,
* Fix for the LPCM decoder on big-endian machines,
* Can read streams from VLS 0.4.0, and streams with A/52 coming from 
the American television. It is still possible to read from VLC 0.3.x 
with the --vls-backwards-compat option.

We have just uploaded VLC 0.4.5a, which fixes the problem many users 
were experiencing when trying to read VCDs. Thanks for bug reports.

VideoLAN at the Free Software days in Lyons (France)


   Some VideoLAN developers (Sam, Nitrox, Tooney & Alexis) will have a
