Sabrent TV-PCIRC

I bought a Sabrent TV-PCIRC card off of newegg.com hoping it might be a clone
of a supported card. Back in November there was another user on this list
that got a TV-PCIRC working and put his info at
http://www.onet.net/~vtjones/pcirc.html. However it was mentioned back in
November that there are mutiple cards with the same model name being sold.

The card I have has a saa7130HL chip but is not auto detected by the saa7143
driver in my 2.6.19 kernel. The Windows driver disk has a readme that
states "tuner mode: FM1216ME" so my best guess is tuner 63. Is there
anything I can do to get this card supported?

Thanks,
Nathan

My dmesg output looks like:

Re: Problem with Terratec Cinergy 200 USB

Thanks for the update, compiling and inserting it worked fine, v4l-info
is now a bit more verbose about the device. However, the same problem
remained with xawtv, and I have no /dev/vbi0, so scantv also fails to
work. I haven't installed any of the firmware files in /lib/firmware,
because this USB device is not in any of the list, was I right?

Re: Problem with Terratec Cinergy 200 USB

/dev/video0 is for video, /dev/vbi[n] is for VBI (eg. teletext)
btw. your device doesn't need any firmware..

ASUSTeK Tiger LNA Hybrid Capture Device - signal unstable.

Hi.

This thread:

http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2007-February/015705.html

has helped me to (partially) solve my problems with a DVB-T card (PCI)
ASUSTeK Tiger LNA Hybrid Capture Device
with Jayhawk tuner.

/sbin/lspci -v

03:0a.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7133/SAA7135
Video Broadcast Decoder (rev d1)
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Unknown device 4871
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 23
        Memory at fdefe000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=2K]

This is the procedure that I have followed:

1) I have downloaded, compiled and installed, latest Mercurial
v4l-dvb-6a48ec9e0f65.tar.bz2

2) I have downloaded the firmware dvb-fe-tda10046.fw (from LifeView) and
put it in /lib/firmware.

3) I have created a file /etc/modprobe.d/dvb.conf with these lines:

alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 saa7134

Re: DVB-S on quad TV tuner card from Medion PC MD8800 / CTX944

Hi Hartmut,

As I read this info the TT Budget-S-1401 use the same chipset -> (philips
tda10086/philips tda8262)
http://grmso.net:8090/blob/9268a82bada6c65f42f3b2af9935275965d2d3bd/
and it includes the tda10086.h so a driver must have been made ?
found here on the internet ->
http://www.koders.com/c/fidC9B03A7C35B7794C33A5CB495371EF2089B4C625.aspx
and
http://www.koders.com/c/fidC621B388331B4B38317E07736C8FDAC69F135D12.aspx
made by Andrew de Quincey

If this helps to get support for DVB-s on the CTX944_rev2 card I would love
to test it :)

ps. some spec. on the MD8800 card called CTX944 it is a Creatix card.

Supported PCI-Express cards

Hello list,

I am looking for a supported TV-tuner card using the PCI-Express (not
PCI, USB etc). From what I can find there is Cinergy 2400i DT and
Lifeview FlyTV Express X1 MST-STA2 (and possible variants of those),
but I can't find anywhere on the net that can confirm that either one
works.

I did find an old posting [1] about a specific chipset but the reply
indicated that it's possible that the "PCI bridge chipset" is not
supported.

Does anyone know of, or currently use, a supported PCI-Express card I
would happily hear from you.

Thanks!

h.

HVR-4000 DVB-S2 firmware

I can't post the actual firmware for the part. However, if you need the
firmware for the HVR-4000 under Linux...

ftp://167.206.143.11/outgoing/Oxford/88x_2_117_24275_1_INF.zip

Extract the zip and grab the firmware with dd:

dd if=hcw88bda.sys of=dvb-fe-cx24116.fw skip=81768 bs=1 count=32522

Re: Problem with Terratec Cinergy 200 USB

Okay, that's right, but what about that v4l2 message that xawtv freezes
after? Is that related to the driver itself, the v4l layer or xawtv?

Uh... That's *exactly* the information contained in the email you responded
