Sensoray 311 (was Re: [V4L] Re: VIDIOC_DQBUF gives i/o error)

I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help. I have JP5 jumped, and that's
it. I have no idea what jp2 does either. It sounds like you might have
another board in there somewhere that's not being nice about sharing
interrupts.

I have neither jp3 a nor b jumped. I actually didn't take the time to
learn much about module slots, so I don't know what the 'correct' thing
to do is. Do you have other 104+/pci cards installed? My stack seems to
work, and looks like this:

  --  104 serial board
  --  104 scsi board
  --  104 pcmcia board
  --  cpu                --
  --  104+ sensoray 311  --
  --  104+ firewire card --

maybe try pulling the jumpers off jp3 a & b? Unless you think that's a
bad idea - I don't want to advise you to fry your hardware or anything...

[V4L] ATI TV Wonder VE help for Linux newbie

Hi, I searched the archives and could not find much help on this. I
would like to get my ATI TV wonder VE card working for capture, here is
the lspci:

00:08.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 (rev 02)
Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 0001
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10
Memory at db103000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]

and here is my modules.conf

#bttv
alias char-major-81 bttv
pre-install bttv modprobe -k msp3400; modprobe -k tuner
options bttv card=10 autoload=0 radio=0
options tuner type=2

lastly here is my kernel etc.

Linux 2.4.7-10 #1 Thu Sep 6 17:27:27 EDT 2001 i686 unknown

Any help you could give me would be very helpful. If more info is
required just ask (but you may have to help me find the info, after all
I am new at this).

[V4L] upgrade xawtv-3.65 to 3.74 causes color+contrast to default to 100%

After the upgrade all channels now have almost 100% color and contrast instead
of my normal settings. I am back to using xawtv-3.65 on my Pinnacle Studio Pro
card untill i can resolve this.

Of course i can reset the color and contrast to normal settings but when i restart
xawtv there gone.Any ideas?

Re: Sensoray 311 (was Re: [V4L] Re: VIDIOC_DQBUF gives i/o error)

OK, so AMP (the people that make my sbc) contacted me and were very
helpful. Future reference for anybody dealiong with pc 104. The module
position jumpers tell each module which "pci slot" it is in (and don't
have anything to do with the actual physical stack position). According to
AMP, on the Tiny786lp/886lp, the freezing problem is a result of using a
module (especially a bt878) in position 0. I had tried the module in other
positions, but not with every possible combination of interrupt settings.
It turns out that pci interrupts get remapped in other module positions.
So inta, which any single irq using card uses, gets remapped for each
modules position:

pos 0 -> irqa
pos 1 -> irqb
pos 2 -> irqc
pos 3 -> irqd

or at least that's what amp told me. What actually ended up working for me
was module position 2 with irqb (possibly an error in labelling on the
sensoray? or somebody counting from 1 instead of 0?). For anybody else
that has the sensoray card, this corresponds to jumpers on jp3-A and jp6.

Anyways, thanks to Clay, AMP, and Gerd. The video is great now!

There was a post on the mpeg2 list (linuxtv.org) in january mentioning
this site; http://www.760mp.com/videoblaster/

[V4L] bttv-cards & wintv-pvr

The Hauppauge wintv-pvr is in bttv.h given the same id as an ordinary
wintv card. Could this card be assigned a different id?

The reason is that it requires additional initialization (by the kfir
driver) and that driver needs a way to identify a real pvr card.

eg.

#define BTTV_HAUPPAUGEPVR   0x4d

[V4L] Can't get color video

Hello,

I have recently installed a Tep TV TV Tuner Card in my Linux box, this
card has a BT848 chipset. It has S-Video, composite and antennae inputs.
I'm trying to capture and display PAL video through the composite input
but I can't seem to get a colour picture. I use xawtv with the composite
input, and the video mode to PAL-NC (that gives the clearest picture)
but the only pictures I get are black and white not colour.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this. I'm even willing to change cards if
it will help.

Thanks in Advance,
Robert
