i didnt do any benchmarks either, but i tried glGetPixels from my FireGL T2 using fglrx 0.11 once, and for a
160x120 (!) image at 25fps, my (1.8GHz) CPU went up by a 60% or so, and i got a memory leak of some 20MB/s.

i was kinda surprised by the dimension of the problem and decided to forget about getting anything from the
card until my next laptop with PCIX or whatever ;), or better ;(
