'stream_chunck size is too small' and 'Broken frame' errors when playing web stream.

Can anyone suggest how to work around the errors below when playing the
webstream http://wms-rbg.harmonycdn.net/lifefmworship?MSWMExt=.asf.

mplayer seems to crash at the end of each song.

Many thanks

Mplayer expand to full screen problems.

Hi,

Happy new year!

I have a freshly installed and up to date FC 14 x86_64 system. When I run mplayer, I use the "f" command to
change to full screen display. This produces a full screen display with a movie in the center that is
definitely NOT full screen.

I suspect a device driver problem for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 550 graphics cardand would like to help debug the
problem by providing more accurate information. I'm making an assumption here that the problem is NOT
with mplayer.

Could someone tell me in detail what the problem relates to please?

Regards,

George...

Hi!

Console output of MPlayer would have been a good start.

Anyway, the usual solution to your problem: Use some -vo which can do
hardware scaling like xv or vdpau. If you have to use -vo x11, use -zoom
to enable software scaling.

Re: Mplayer expand to full screen problems.

Oliver,

Thanks for your reply.

-vo xv exhibited the same behavior
-vo vdpau produced no display

-vo x11 -zoom worked sort of but the display was offset and didn't appear to show all the "movie" on the
display, sort of like if the screen size mplayer saw was larger than the "real" size and the "e" command did
not work.

What would I tell a driver developer in terms of "this feature xxx, is broken"?

George...

If you're running F14 then you're definitely out-of-date, as that version
has reached end of life a month ago and is no longer updated. I suggest
installing F16 (with KDE4, if you can't bear the new GNOME).

Please provide the output of:
mplayer -v your_movie.mp4

Dominik

If you still need help, please provide complete, uncut console output of
MPlayer. The only vo's that you should test are -vo vdpau, -vo xv and -vo
gl_nosw (not necessarily in this order, but since you own a Nvidia card, vdpau
would give you a deinterlacer for free). Please consider all the remaining
drivers as special-purpose / old / unusable for your use case.

Problems with h264 video with latest mplayer

Hello,

I've recompiled mplayer today and I got problems with playback on my
machine. With some files I have no errors while with other files I get
lot's of corruption on screen, but subtitles work OK.

Both files were working with earlier mplayer (~2011-11-10 if I see my
logs properly).

Tell me if I can provide you with more data to help you.

Please provide a sample.
(Or find the - FFmpeg - version introducing the problem, this may not be trivial
though.)

Hello,

the file I have problems with are ~600-2000 MB big, will a beginning X
megabytes suffice? If so, how much? If not, how can I provide you with a
proper sample? (preferably linux command).

I also have some problems with using x264 from outside ffmpeg, but I'll
write about this once I get home.

Best Regards, Piotr.

Ad for FFmpeg version I need to use http download since I'm currently at a
very bad connection at home and I can't use normal checkouts etc.
