Crash with ao=dsound

Dear Mplayer Developers!

I'd like to report a bug:

If you try to seek fast forward and rewind more times a video, and the sound
output is directsound, the mplayer often freeze. Not only the mplyaer, it
freezes everything, so I need to reset the whole computer (no numlock etc...).

I found it's not depend on the film, and the audio codec used in the film.

My config : Abit NF7 with the internal Realtek ALC650 sound card.
My Sound driver: 5.10.0.5630 (not the from Nforce driver pack, its original
from realtek)
DirectX version: 9.0b
Operating system: Windows XP prof with SP1
Mplayer version: MPlayer-mingw32-dev-CVS-041104

Let me to thank You all of yours works. You are doing great job!

(Sorry for my bad english. I hope You could understand me...)

V4L stands for Video 4 Linux.

There isn't one. Send a patch. Or use VirtualDub.

config problem

Hi,

I used precompiled binary for windows MPlayer-mingw32-1.0pre5.zip and
MPlayer-mingw32-dev-CVS-041104.zip (and on linux use mplayer too) and found
this problems in windows version:

with both version:

why mplayer try read from f:/ ?, when is installed on c:/mplayer (with
early version did work) - see comman line.

again

and in CVS version realtime information about progress move out (in
pre1.0.5 stay on one line)

[PATCH] reworked win32 support for vo_gl2, please test

Hi,
I reworked the win32 part of vo_gl2 to make it share more code with the
X code and remove some #ifdefs.
In addition, switching to and from fullscreen is much faster.
But I'm quite sure that there a still a few bugs in there, so everyone
who can please test!

Greetings,

Tested it and the switching goes much smoother indeed, also the screen
blanking at startup seems to have disappeared.
However it sometimes freezes for a second or so when going into fullscreen.
No idea if this gfx card related, though.

In general if it something is freezing your system it is most likely not the
apps fault (except you are using hacks like vidix).
I went through the driver again, but didn't find anything that might be
causing this.
Are you sure this only happens with ao dsound or also with other directx
apps? Maybe updating your soundcards drivers helps?
On the other hand it might also be a different problem. What happens without
audio eg. -ao null?
Otherwise I can only recommend you to use -ao win32 or set ao=win32 int the
config file.
