[PATCH] udev-rules-dir option of configure doesnt work

Hi,

There is an option to set the path of kino.rules.
It is --enable-udev-rules-dir

This option is incorrect: it is processsed by configure as a yes/no 
option.
It should be something like --with-udev-rules-dir

The attached patch allow --with-udev-rules-dir=PATH to work

[PATCH] fix dvgrab build with gcc 4.3

Resending, since I stupidly sent this to a libdv list earlier, not here...

We're currently rebuilding all Fedora packages for Fedora 9 using the shiny 
new gcc 4.3 compiler. One of the big chances is how the preprocessor handles 
header inclusion, which breaks most compiles where headers are implicitly 
included instead of explicitly. There are quite a few dvgrab files that need 
#include <string.h> added to 'em to build properly with gcc 4.3. Attached is 
the patch I used to get dvgrab 3.1 building again.

hooray, 1.3.0! :)

	Hello folks,
glad to say 1.3.0[1] works for me :)

Still, tabourets should break under me: if I play the last scene 
and delete it during playback, kino crashes.  Also tried to write
a legible bugreport on some things with 1.2.0 but now will have
to recheck with current version :) (FX usability, cursor jumps)

I just committed changes to dvgrab in CVS that implements these. For
the initial rewind, I have added the -rewind option. Nothing is needed
for the stop at end; you just need to not be interactive mode and not
using -noavc. Basically, it has a heuristic: if I have a capture file
size > 0 and the transport suddenly stops, then stop capture and exit.
So, this means if you press stop on the camcorder physical button in
the middle of capture, it causes the same reaction.

These will be in upcoming 3.2 release.

The import routine attempts to convert the file in the same directory.
It is simple by design, but suffers some shortcomings along the way
that I choose not to address. It should be obvious from the above
filename ending in .dv that it can not write to your optical medium.
In order to workaround this limitation, you need to copy the file to a
writable partition that you are confident will have enough space to
hold the converted file as well (~3.6 MB/second).

P.S. Some other users have complained about the lack of any real
progress bar or other progress information. I have attempted to
address this in the recent 1.3.0 release.

Google should know (and probably tell) that Dan (who currently
maintains Kino while nobody <at>  seems to have stuck with the fork...
er, mind the 1.0.0 codename :) is involved in MLT and kdenlive
development too -- and at kino-1.0.0 point told that it has
reached its design limits.

Still it works and kdenlive is a bit more experimental atm (our
users report crashes, I don't maintain it but can try to provide
some communication -- probably elsewhere), so guess he decided 
to give kino some more polish.  Well, it works better yet. :)
