No, at this point you should offer it (or an unreleased package containing it)
to people who report the problem and solicit direct feedback. I still do not
feel there is enough feedback in this problem and the patch.

> (also forwarding to ffmpeg maintainer)

The ffmpeg dv maintainer has been incommunicado on my outstanding patch, and I
do not think this patch properly addresses the problem (it's more like a
band-aid).

Kino 0.95: Problems start that program

Hi all,

unfortunately the actual Version (0.95) doesn' work on my Fedora4-System
with KDE 3.4. An older version did it's job on a FC3-Machine. But after
an update it doesn't work.

Do you have any hints to solve that problem?

Thanks in advance

Frank

1.0.0 crashes in FX menu

Hello list.

I've used kino a long while back and now came back to it because I have
17 Gigabyte of .dv data spread over 120 files that needs to be put together.
Today while experimenting, I - reproducably - found that it always crashes
when I click on 'Render' in the FX menu.

I have compiled everything with a gcc 4.0.3 compiler with pentium-mmx
optimisations on a ROCK Linux system.

I have found in the archives that there seem to be problems with PAL data,
but the archive wouldn't let me download the patch :(

Any ideas?

Greetings,
	Benjamin

Re: Kino1.0.0 very unstable

Hi Dan,

I have trimmed considerable amount of scenes while Kino ran in GDB. I
was unfortunately not able to reproduce the problem then. Crashes though
appeared when it just runs without GDB and scenes are trimmed. It is
however more stable then when I first compiled it. Crashes in FX menu
(reported by Benjamin Schieder) I also experienced, but with the patch
and recompilation not anymore. So whenever I "get it to crash" I will
inform you.

Best regards (and happy easter),

Erik

I am a little confused. After applying the patch, you experienced no crashing
in FX. However, in Trim you still experience occasional crash outside gdb,
but much less crashing than before the patch. Please confirm my
understanding.
