[CinCV] [Bug 532] New: Titler text goes to track title

http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532

Summary: Titler text goes to track title
           Product: Cinelerra
           Version: 2.1
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: Effects/Transitions
        AssignedTo: cinelerra@...
        ReportedBy: raffaella.traniello@...

Sometimes (say for a couple of tracks in a 15 tracks project) the field of a
video track name appears blank and uneditable.

In the EDL in place of "Video 1" you can read some lines of text I wrote in the
titler, often enhanced with casual letters.

In the "Attach effect" dialog the list of tracks names reports those funny
names, sometimes one after another, sometimes one over another (that is
unreadable).

Editing manually the EDL and correcting the text between <TITLE> and </TITLE>
doesn't really fix the problem: the track title fields are still uneditable and
the "Attach effect" dialog is still unusable: the names are changed but they
are one over another and/or changing or disappearing when hovering over with
the mouse.

I haven't found a workaround.
Nor have I discovered what triggers this.

Is she getting confused by her own language??

Ciao!
Raffaella

Reproducible: Sometimes

http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532

------- Comment #2 from raffaella.traniello@... 2009-01-04
13:47 +2 -------
On a more detailed analysis of a backup of my current project it
appears that the affected tracks are the ones with the title effect applied.

I noticed in the EDL there are *two* <TITLE></TITLE> tags for every track.
The first one just after <TRACK> that defines the track title,
the other inside <KEYFRAME> in <PLUGINSET> that defines the text for titles and
credits.

Well... in my project the two tracks that have a Title plugin applied
replace the track title between the first <TITLE></TITLE> with the last lines
of text
written before the </TITLE> inside <KEYFRAME> in <PLUGINSET>.

I have not studied any other project yet.

Created an attachment (id=247)
 --> (http://bugs.cinelerra.org/attachment.cgi?id=247&action=view)
Screenshot of the Attach Title dialog

Only "Video 1" and "Mask gamberetto" are real title names.

"FOR VAL" is the text I added on a title effect.
fdsbf are added by Cinelerra. Curiously in the EDL she added only fds.
Where do bf come from?

[CinCV] Ubuntu Install (was debian issues)

Emh....why did you post "debian issue" when mail is about install in
ubuntu or xubuntu or whatesle.
By the way,you should put which version of ubuntu you're installing as
well....and maybe a link to WHERE you found explications to solve your
problems.
That should really help.

thx!

How much text do you have in the title effects? Thousands of characters?

No, Hannes. It's well below the 1023 characters limit.

  First track (opening titles):
First title effect: 35 ch.
Second title effect: 7 ch. (*)

(*) The text of the last title effect of the track is:

FOR VAL

  Second track (credits):
First title effect: 16 ch.
Second title effect: 429 ch
Third title effect: 80 ch (**)

(**) The text of the last title effect of the track is:

This video is published

2.5 Italia

I used no keyframes.

To have some track title fields occasionally blank and not editable is
something very familiar to me. I see it since long (years?).
It's just the first time I see this odd behavior as a proper bug.

Ciao!

That worked for me on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid 64-bit, with Compiz-Fusion.

> apt-cache policy cinelerra
cinelerra:
  Installed: 1:2.1.0-1svn20081017akirad2

> apt-cache policy libx11-6
libx11-6:
  Installed: 2:1.1.5-2ubuntu1.1

I just downloaded
http://people.ubuntu.com/~bryce/Testing/libx11/libx11-6_1.1.3-1ubuntu2~noxcb_amd64.deb,
"installed" it in /opt/LIBx11-noxcb, and launched cinelerra with:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/LIBx11-noxcb/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH cinelerra MyProject.xml

I'm kind of surprised it worked though, since it's 1.1.3 and not 1.1.5, but it
worked for me.
