Re: [CinCV] Warning message question

Hello.

You can check the manual:

Re: [CinCV] Crossfire cards

Did you already looked through the forums at:

http://www.phoronix.com/

I think there are the people that deal with such questions.

Cheers

[CinCV] Translate Plugin Documentation

Wow!

They beauty of hidden features is that they keep your life full of
surprises! :-)

I've just discovered the power of the Translate Plugin applied to a
Title. It's really impressive and incredibly useful for us non-native
speakers.
Not a word about it on the Manual. :-(

I really think it is worth being well documented. But I know that
Cinelerra is a little buggy with character encoding and I wonder how
well non ISO8859-1 languages are supported.

When I apply the Translate Effect to an Italian title this is translated
to English (in the Compositor output) nearly in real time.
When I have an English title this is translated to my locale (it_IT) at
same speed. Both are ISO8859-1 languages.
I tried to experiment a little with ISO8859-2 and ISO8859-15 but I admit
this goes beyond my knowledge. :-/

I'm updating the documentation on the Dokuwiki:
http://cvs.cinelerra.org/docs/wiki/doku.php?id=english_manual:cinelerra_cv_en_14#translate
Please, check it for accuracy and contribute information for your
language.

Thanks!
Raffaella

Re: [CinCV] Saving Preferences (closed)

Thanks Raffaella, until I buy a bigger screen, this is a workable
solution.

Frans.

[CinCV] [Bug 472] Titler doesn't show Russian text correctly

mojoholder@... changed:

Thanks for the info Johannes!

The Russian translation really works! The problem vanished after I installed
the koi8-enabled fonts from ru.po.

I tried it out on my machine (Intel/OS 10.5.2), and it seems to build
just fine.

This fix is applicable to kwin, too. Will have to check with Fluxbox,
since Alt-LMB is no common standard operation for all X Window managers).

But still: this is only a workaround, no fix.

I work at a professional movie company. (I can't disclose the name, but
it's one of the "Big Three" in the motion picture industry.) They use
Avid for HD editing on 576x480 special offer flat panels right now. The
bug mentioned here is the only one that keeps them from migrating the
entire business to Cinelerra. Of course, they did a thorough analysis of
the other bugs in the application and found that they are not much worse
than what they have to put up with when using the grossly overprized Avid.
So fix this one bug, and you'll have a real big fish as reference
customer for Cinelerra.

Yours
Andreas, aka pseudoruprecht
