[Trac] Projects with hyphen in their name (bug?)

Here is a subject I wrote about in the Agilo mailing list. I think it
is a Trac bug. It seems Trac does not work well when a project is
created with an hyphen in its name "-". Here I mean the directory name
of the project.

Here are the steps to reproduce the bug:

    trac-admin xxx-yyy initenv;
    When prompted, give the project the name "xxx-yyy";
    Use the default for the database;
    On the local host, enter the url to access the new project
created;
    Click the login button.

Trac displays this error:

Trac Error
Authentication information not available. Please refer to the
installation documentation.

TracGuide — The Trac User and Administration Guide

If you do the same commands with "xxx" instead of "xxx-yyy", you will
not have this error. Trac will ask for your name and password as it
should.

Can you confirm this bug?

Thank you.

[Trac] Projects with hyphen in their name (bug?) No it is not!

Sorry for the previous bug. It turns out it was a bad Apache
configuration. It seems to have nothing to do with Trac. Sorry for the
annoyance.

[Trac] TypeError: argument number 2: browsing SVN repository

Hello Team,
I get following error when I try to browse my SVN repository in Trac.
I can see the repository in the Repository Index page, but when I
click the repository to browse it, I get the error below.
SVN works fine when I use Tortoise client.
Can you help me? What is the problem?

Gruß
Guido

Oops…
Trac detected an internal error:

This is probably a local installation issue.

Found a bug in Trac?
If you think this should work and you can reproduce the problem, you
should consider creating a bug report.

Before you do that, though, please first try searching for similar
issues, as it is quite likely that this problem has been reported
before. For questions about installation and configuration of Trac or
its plugins, please try the mailing list instead of creating a ticket.

Otherwise, please a new bug report describing the problem and explain
how to reproduce it.

[Trac] New Installation - VM for Experimenting, Maybe Production

I want to install my first Trac installation. I would like to
experiment with it so I think it might be appropriate to install on a
virtual machine. My host machine is Windows 7 and dedicated for
Trac. I would like to hear suggestions on what options I may need to
consider. Are there different VMs to consider? What are the trade
off for running a VM on Windows 7 vs a parallel VM and possibly a
Linux host (although I am not well versed in Linux - yet).

The way I do this is to have fictitious users e.g. `gPigs` and `gChickens` and assign all the necessary
permissions to these users (using `Grant permission`). Then I add each user to the appropriate group
(using `Add Subject to Group`). This is all documented:

http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracPermissions#PermissionGroups

Near the top is also a link to:

http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracFineGrainedPermissions

I've heard (positive impressions) of Bitnami's Trac VM ... but honestly never used it .
