[Trac] Re: Trac Wiki Notification Plugin

Trac Wiki Notification - 0.1.0rc3 has been released!

What has changed:
 * Added README to comply with setuptools rules.
 * The email notification now also states the the ip might mean nothing
if the user is behind a proxy.
 * The charset problem found with python 2.4.3 is now solved, this
closes ticket #1, and now everything respects the trac's charset and
encoding set on trac.ini.

[Trac] VeeJay Compile Hell on Ubuntu (yes I know, there's always one isn't there)

I have recently(2 days ago) changed from suse to ubuntu. I was hardly
Mr Pro on suse to begin with so please bear with me.

I'm trying to get veejay compiled on my system, after blood sweat and
tears I am (I hope) very near to completing the configure script.

according to my synaptic package manager

{{gtkcairo-cvs

is installed.

I have attempted to install cairo-1.2.4.tar.gz. This brings up an error
about font backends. On reflection, I dont think this is the
appropriate package anyway.

If a cvs is listed as installed is the package installed or just CVS
access to the package??

Does anyone have any Ideas on how I can get gtkcairo grooving so I can

I think you are asking about a project that uses Trac for management.
This list is only for question related to the Trac system itself, not
things that use it.

If you don't need plugins (besides the webadmin plugin) and are not
afraid to hit a rough edge here and there, you can already use the
genshi branch. See http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracOnWindows/Python2.5

[Trac] Problem with upgrading from trac 0.9.4 to 0.10

Hi guys,
I am trying to upgrade our install of trac 0.9.4 to 0.10

When I try to use trac with mod_python for apache (using the same apache
config as 0.9.4) - I get an error: "Error reading from socket" when I
try to access a page belonging to the trac dynamic content.
I can use trac via tracd - the trac dynamic content is visible.

I am using a Fedora Core 3 box, SELinux is disabled.

Relevant packages:

clearsilver-0.10.3
sqlite-3.3.7
trac-0.10
pysqlite-2.3.2

apache: 2.0.53-3.4.legacy

relevant to trac config for httpd:
<Location "/projects">
        SetHandler mod_python
        PythonHandler trac.web.modpython_frontend
        PythonOption TracUriRoot /projects
        PythonOption TracEnvParentDir "/opt/trac"
        SetEnv PYTHON_EGG_CACHE /usr/local/stow/PYTHON_EGG_CACHE
        PythonDebug On
</Location>

Nothing is generated in server logs. Wht I tried to do is enable the mod
python test page as described here:
http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracModPython

What happens when I try to load http://127.0.0.1/mpinfo
------------------------------------------------------------
                           Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was
unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, ibro@... and

done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
_________________________________________________________________

    Apache/2.0.53 (Fedora) Server at source.spectrum.local Port 80
--------------------------------------------------------------

Still - I cannot find anything relevant in the logs.

As I am managing the local installation with stow - I checked whether
trac is available:

[ash <at> source stow]$ python
Python 2.3.4 (#1, Feb 2 2005, 12:11:53)
[GCC 3.4.2 20041017 (Red Hat 3.4.2-6.fc3)] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import trac.core
>>> trac.core
<module 'trac.core' from
'/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages/trac/core.pyc'>>>>

Any ideas how to handle this problem?

Kind regards:
al_shopov

It is not likely that there will be a uniform way to do this for a
while at least. Look at the TracObjects proposal (on
trac.edgewall.org) for more info on one suggested method. Until then
what Matt said is the best way to do it, secondary tables with change
listeners to keep it all in sync.

Ok, the "backlinks" are implemented as a vertical menu list (build on
runtime from the AutoNav macro).

You can see the mechanism e.g. based on this page:

http://case.lazaridis.com/wiki/DjangoAudit

I tend to implement this as a 'classical' left-side vertical navigation
menu.

something like a dynamic TracNav (to speak in context of existent
solutions).

> That would certainly be an useful plugin.
> OTOH, inclusion of this feature in core Trac is still being discussed [2].

ok, the navigation history could then go to the "histnav" (context-nav,
left - what I call "backnav" currently).

this would solve the 'conflict'.

backlinks, histnav, and classic-navigation-menu

again, any commenst and suggestions welcome.

I meant: if I find a solution, is it possible to include a custom field
(e.g. "text custom-attributes") to the database.

I see.

could you provide me with a basic skeleton for this?

I would owe you a favor!
