[p4] View in P4V with keeping UTF-8 settings

Environment: 
P4V and P4 Visual Studio 2012 plugin latest version.
Unicode(UTF-8) for every source file.

Problem:
When I select "View in P4V" from Visual Studio 2012, (attached image
for details) a new P4V window is opened but its Connection Character Encoding
becomes other than UTF-8 but system locale(Korean CP949). I want P4V opened with
keeping UTF-8 settings.

How can I resolve this problem? Please reply.

[p4] Merging Microsoft OneNote revisions

I'd like to find out if anyone knows a way to handle merging OneNote
notebooks instead of handling them as binary files with exclusive checkout
rights.  Does a merge tool exist for this file type (.one)?

[p4] p4 integrate -i -Di -t ..

Ok, I'm sure I'm not on my own for using P4V as a base for working out
what set of commands it uses to perform its actions, I've hit one today
which is the one in the topic title, however, using p4 help integrate and
looking at the online documentation, I can't see any mention of the -i or -t
flags, what are these used for?

[p4] How to change the changelist spec

any command like jobspec to do this. Any idea?

[p4] Integration of the DTG in TFS with P4?

Hi,

I'm TFS ignorant but have been asked if it's possible to integrate just
the defect tracking TFS bits with p4, leaving P4 as the source control.

I've really no idea, though I believe I've heard that MS enabled this
with Git.

I keep a Pending Changelist view in my perspective for this. Then you can
operate on only open files easily.

[p4] p4v hangs when connection drops

I use p4v visual client (NTX86/2013.1/661291) over a VPN
connection.  I notice that when my vpn connection drops unexpectedly
after idle timeout, my p4v client will show a animated status bar in the lower
right. I'm not able the cancel the operation nor initiate any other
actions.  All things are grayed-out disabled.  I cannot even
exit the application.  I have to use Task Manager to kill p4v
process.  Annoying.

[p4] P4VS defect: specifying a new changelist creates multiple changelists

Thank you for your bug report. I've attached you to an existing report for
this issue. It looks like it is scheduled for the next release from what I see
in our issue tracker, so there's a good chance we will see a fix for this
one in the next release.

I am also experiencing hangs of 3-5 minutes in VS2012.2 with the 2013.1 Perforce
plugin.  The workaround above does not work at all for me.

[p4] Server help

What ports did you open for the firewall and what port is your Perforce server
running on? Is the firewall blocking specific IP addresses potentially? When the
firewall is up can some clients connect and not others?

[p4] My journal file doesn't truncate after a checkpoint

Hi,

I'm trying to sort out correctly backing up my Perforce server.

The first thing I did was to move the journal file so that it was on a different
hard drive to the p4 root using the instructions here:

I'm running Perforce as a service so I did this:
1. Stopped the service
2. Copied the journal file to C:\PerforceJournals\journal
3. Ran: p4 set -S Perforce P4JOURNAL=C:\PerforceJournals\journal
4. Restarted the service.

The journal seems to update just fine in this new location.

I then created a checkpoint like this:

.\p4d.exe -r D:\Perforce\Server -J
C:\PerforceJournals\journal -jc C:\PerforceCheckpoints\ug

This created these files:
ug.ckp.11
ug.ckp.11.md5
ug.jnl.10

The problem is the journal file here: C:\PerforceJournals\journal is
