NTGS50AA, better than Thunderbolt?

I got in another NTG50AA unit a couple of weeks ago and have been watching the oscillator (Trimble 34310-T2)
age in and stabilize. It started out aging at around 1E-9 parts/day. After two weeks, the aging rate for the
last 72 hours was down to the 2E-11 range, with the curve still flattening out. Over the last 24 hours it is
down to under 5E-12 parts per day.

These numbers are based upon the EFC voltage and known EFC gain. Of course, there could be (and probably is)
some aging effects to the EFC DAC/reference voltage. The unit is running while disciplined to GPS. and is
not being thermally stabilized. The oscillator seems to be very immune to external temperature effects.
Unit temperature has varied +/- 2 degrees C and the air conditioning has been cycling quite a bit (it's been
95 degrees F outside).

Hi

There's a list somewhere that maps the part numbers to who made them. Some OCXO's might be better than others…..

ANN: UK MSF 60 kHz interruption, 2012 June 14

Folks, I have received the following notice:

__________________________________

Notice of Interruption to MSF 60 kHz Time and Frequency Signal

The MSF 60 kHz time and frequency signal broadcast from Anthorn Radio
Station will be shut down over the period:

14 June 2012
from 10:00 BST until 14:00 BST

The interruption to the transmission is required to allow maintenance work
to be carried out in safety.

Re: ANN: UK MSF 60 kHz interruption, 2012 June 14

David
Thanks
With the changes to wwvb in the states I may need to turn the antennas
towards MSF so my equipment keeps running.
Its funny as I was working on the d-psk-r the rcvrs were locking to MSF.
That was a chuckle to see.
Lets see, a 10 ft loop towards England and a big screen to mask WWVB.

Hey is your frequency english or metric? ;-)

Paul

Thanks!

Happy to learn this. Will need to test it.
