Summary: strange assertion in version 22.77.4-CVS1

Initial Comment:
Hi Stefan,

I have encountered a very strange assertion in
hyperref.c:288
memicmp(cp1, "<a href", strlen("<a href")) == 0"

Did you encountered a/o solved this ?

Sorry but I currently don't have a debugging version of
XDVIK here. I would need to install one first.

The assertion happens when doing a click on a hyperref.
Seems like a minor pointer quirk to me. The href
statements themselves look ok in the DVI code (though I
built them buy hand).

[ xdvi-Bugs-985422 ] Bug or feature? marking pages

Summary: Bug or feature? marking pages

Initial Comment:
1) toggle-mark (and the other commands regarding
marking, I guess) only mark a page if the pagelist is
visible. Eg., Ctrl-n without the pagelist moves the
page but does not mark it.

2) The following is somewhat counterintuitive - at
least for me:
If you start a fresh xdvi, mark some pages, and open
the print or save dialogue, xdvi will by default print
or save the marked pages.

If you first print or save the whole document and then
mark some pages, the default of xdvi is to print or to
save the whole document.

Problem with eps files

Hello all.
xdvi would display embedded eps files but now it just shows a box with the eps file name (eps extension included).
What could I do to find out what causes this problem?

Initial Comment:
Saving a corrupted dvi as ps or pdf fails. Saving it
as dvi or one of the acsii formats works.

In addition, the error message refers to printing
instead of saving.

What version of xdvi are you using? (output of xdvi -version)
Versions < 22.40k don't work with the changed security features
in ghostscript versions >= 7.04.

Best,
Stefan

Summary: edited filenames when saving should be saved

Initial Comment:
If user edits a file name in the `Save as' dialog and
successfully saves the file, when the dialog is opened
the next time, the file name has changed back to the
initial default. It would be better to save the changes
made by the user (only within the session).
