Hi

It would save me, and hopefully other users as well, a 

lot of time if I could correct spelling errors directly in 

xdvi and somehow save the corrections to the tex file. 

Maybe it's just me, but I spend a lot of time finding the 

misspelled word in the tex file after discovering it in the 

dvi file.

I have X-resource xdvi.expert set to True.

When I press x, the menu bar appears but when I press x

again to remove the menus, xdvi crashes. This does not

happen on my Linux box.

Describe the precise algorithm how t1fonts (.pfb's,

vf's etc.) are searched, either in the man page or

in README.t1fonts. Explain what `implied encodings'

means, where the suffixes come from (the enc lines in

xdvi.cfg), additional suffixes like `8a' that are 

tried when searching for .pfbs etc.

This bug has been reported by Kostas Oikonomou, running

Solaris 9/CDE, Motif 2.1.0 (it's not reproducible on

Linux/Motif2.1.30):

The first tooltip popup window has too large size

(almost half of entire xdvi window); later popups have

the correct size. The

internal values for logical.width and

tw->tip.font_height are OK, so it looks like an error

This bug has been reported by Kostas Oikonomou:

It seems that the `--without-mktexpk-default' configure

option doesn't have any effect; the definition

#define MAKEPK

is hardwired in xdvi-config.h. dvi-draw.c would need to

be changed to not use the PK fallback in that solution,

and leave characters blank if the Type1 version of CMR

cannot be found.
