Summary: Enhance visual resolution

Initial Comment:
xdvi does antialiasing. There are alternative ways to
do this, including clear-type like methods for LCD
displays (but M$ may have patents on this, though they
would not hold up on court).

Summary: mouse buttons

Initial Comment:
I'd like to suggest new actions to be associated to
mouse clicks. One kind of magnification is enough, so
the other buttons - and double clicks - could be use
otherwise. Remember that I'm ocmeing from gv, other
users might have other preferences. In general, I like
to change between mouse and keyboard as few as
possible, so navigation should be easy with the mouse
(you need the mouse to enter the xdvi window anyway).

I like the gv feature which allows to scroll backwards
and forewards by clicking on the left resp. right side
of the document.

A double click on the left side of the document could
jump back to a specific page, eg the page that was
shown at the last mouse entering event.

Summary: removing scrollbars as expert

Initial Comment:
I like the expert mode because I'm using xdvi with my
laptop and space is precious! How about removing the
scrollbars together with the other bars? Or maybe as
additional expert mode. Then "x" could cycle through
them like 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 1.

Summary: http and url handling too complex

Initial Comment:
The handeling of urls and http/ftp/etc. protocols
should be simplified. This should fix bugs.

With regards to http urls xdvik should send a request
to the server to establish the mime-type the server
thinks the document is. If text/html, text/plain or
application/binary (common default types) is reported
back xdvik's own mime-type heuristics should be
applied. If any other type is reported xdvik should
heed it.

Xdvi should handle application/x-dvi and
application/dvi itself and hand all other types to the
assigned web browser.

When a user runs the command:

Rahtz's TeXlive 6 - http://www.tug.org/texlive.)

sees the xdvi warning message:
