 Hi!
Use px fonts or tx fonts. If you want to use pxfonts, put the command \usepackage{pxfonts}
before \begin{document} and use $\iotaup$. Take a look at the file
symobls-a4.pdf available in CTAN for a complete list of mathematical
other symbols.

S. Venkataraman

Hi all

I got a problem in index autogeneration. Its erroring like

Scanning input file phren.idx......Not enough core......abort.

Usage: makeindx [ilqrcg] [-s sty] [-0 ind] [-t log] [-p num] [idx0 idx1....]

when i commanded c:\yandy\util\makeindx phren

My idx name is phren.idx. But when i split the .idx file into two then there
is no problem in index generation. Only when i generate as a single file its

Professor Kapil Hari Paranjape of the The Institute of Mathematical Sciences
(IMSc) was one out of eleven scientists who were awarded the presitigious
Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar prize this year in August 2005. The awards would be
given away by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on September 28, 2005.

Professor Paranjape was awarded for his work in the mathematical sciences.
He holds a PhD from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, and his
field of interest is Algebraic Geometry. IIMSc is a national institute for
fundamental research in frontier disciplines of the mathematical and
physical sciences such as Theoretical Computer Science, Mathematics, and
Theoretical Physics. Professor Paranjape is the author of several technical
publications in reputed international journals, as well as many

RE: tugindia Digest, Vol 33, Issue 4

Hi Abdullah,

The problem is, you used the old version of index generate .exe file. Please try with the new version of index
generate file (makeindex.exe). This is free ware only. You can take the file from ctan.

Best of Luck,
Vinoth Kumar, S.

Greek in italics, bold

Hi,
I am typesetting an article containing Greek and
English text (using times
and mathtime packages).
I am using babel package with polutonikogreek and
english options. I am getting
the greek characters in roman(!) but I am unable
to get the greek characters in italics or in bold
face. I am using \textgreek{},
command to get the text in greek. I tried the usual
\textit{} and \textbf{}.
This does not seem to work.
Can anyone suggest me how to get greek text in
italics?
Thanks
Ambika Vanchinathan
