it doesn't exist in standard latex, you should us some package which
define it or make own macro.

maybe is url what you looking for:

\usepackage{url}
\renewcommand{UrlLeft{url: }
\renewcommand{UrlRight{>}
\DeclareUrlCommand\emal{\urlstyle{rm}%
	\renewcommand\UrlLeft{e-mail:\ }%
	\renewcommand\UrlRight{}}

% not tested, source: TLC 2, pp. 96

or hyperref, where you can declare:

	\href{mail to: <mail <at> adres>}{string to be shown in text}

regards,	Zarko

cmex7 font bug

Hi,
  If I compile the following example
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\begin{document}
\begin{equation}
   P_{\widetilde X}
\end{equation}
\end{document}

I get Type 3 font cmex7.pk for the tilde. I asked the question on
c.t.t. and was told that this is a bug with Miktex fonts. cmex7 should
be available in Type 1 format. I have both bluesky and cm-super
packages installed, but cmex7.pfb is not included in any of them.
Tetex and texlive include cmex7.pfb. Can it be made available in
Miktex?

BTW, this can be resolved by adding the option cmex10 to the amsmath
package, but then you have cmex10 scaled to 7 points, rather than the
real cmex at 7 points.

Thanks,
Aditya

No.

The only cmex7.pfb on CTAN is
fonts/cm/ps-type1/bakoma/pfb/cmex7.pfb, which is non-free (no
resell).

See http://tug.org/mailman/htdig/tex-live/2005-May/007959.html

Actually, Miktex also includes them in ttcmex package. It is
classified in Uncatergorized and has no info. But it contains the pbf
version of cmex[789]. If I install it, I get type 1 fonts.

Help with pre-loaded format

On 2 separate servers, running identical versions
of MikTeX (at least as far as we know, e.g. same
version number), using identical *.tex files, the
PDF files created with pdftex are coming out with
slightly different font sizes. Investigating we
found the following differences in the *.log files

Log file 1:
(preloaded format=plain 2004.8.2)
(11 pages, 31998 bytes)

Log file 2:
(preloaded format=plain 2006.2.28)
(11 pages, 266443 bytes)

The "preloaded format" line is near the end of
the first line in the log file, and the line with
# of bytes is near the end of the last line in
the log file. I've included the log files
themselves below in case they're of help. Can
anyone tell us what the problem is here and how to resolve it?

1) On the server with log file 1, you haven't updated the formats for
a while. Use MiKTeX Options (or the command line tool) to update the
formats. However, I don't think this will resolve the fontsize issue.

2) The font size issue (and actually the file size diff) is explained
by the fact that newer version of MiKTeX embed all type1 fonts by
default. Read http://docs.miktex.org/manual/updmapcfg.html
Check that both server use the same updmap.cfg - look out for local
versions

Are there any fonts included at all? Doesn't the log normally tell then?
Seems the included stuff is only many times the same PNG. But why then
the grossly differing file size?

I must admit I didn't look closely at the logs - my explanation above
was what seemed most likely...

bug with mathtime and belleek

Hi,

the following file was reported to compile smoothly with teTeX 3.0
without needing commercial MathTime fonts, but doesn't render fine when
compiled with an up-to-date MiKTeX. Mathtime, belleek and
miktex-yandy-support packages are all installed.

\listfiles
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{mathtime}
\begin{document}
$\sum_{i=1}^nx_{ij}-y_j=50\ \forall\ j\in V$
\end{document}

The resulting pdf file can be downloaded at
<URL:http://home.arcor.de/stephanhennig/Downloads/test.pdf>. A font
MTSYN seems to be missing in the pdf file so all math operators turn out
as bold letters in AR7. The log file is appended to this mail. The
problem is currently being discussed on comp.text.tex, where it was
pointed out that this could be a bug in MiKTeX searching for a wrong pfb
file. Since I do not completely understand the details :) please see the
thread "mathtime.sty does not correctly create symbols" for more
information, especially the messages from 2006-3-3.

Is there any recommended way to install belleek fonts as a drop in
replacement for the commercial MathTime fonts in MiKTeX?

Regards
Stephan Hennig
