CTAN package update: LaTeXPiX

A package has been updated on tug.ctan.org and should make its
way to your favorite local mirror in the next day or two.

Thanks for the upload,
Jim Hefferon

======================================================================

The following information was provided by the package's contributor.

Name of contribution: LaTeXPiX
Author's name: N.J.H.M. van Beurden
Location on CTAN: systems/win32/latexpix
Summary description:
License type: pd

Announcement text given by the package's contributor:
- - ----------------------------------------------------------------------
The nineth CTAN release has the following improvements:
* New procedure for drawing and resizing squares and circles which is much more easy to use.
* Bug fix in the text editor form when entering text with '[' and ']'.
* Now shows the bounding box of inserted images instead of the image itself during preview.
* First/last point of closed polygons and spline could not be selected.
* Number of polygon/spline points increased to 50.
* Bug fix in arc conversion. LaTeX even crashed when converting or previewing.
* A grayscale of 100 percent resulted into a filling of the object with the border colour. This way corrected
by setting the grayscale to 99 percent when converting to LaTeX code.
* Added Polish and Japanese translations.
* General LaTeXPiX GUI font can be changed, this was mainly implemented to deal with the different charsets
some languages like Japanese, Chinese and Korean use.

CTAN submission -- ppr-prv class update (v. 0.09)

----- Forwarded message from Mathieu Goutelle -----
I have uploaded an update of the ppr-prv class in /incoming/ppr-prv.tgz
on dante.ctan.org. Please replace all files in
macros/latex/contrib/ppr-prv by the ones in the archive.

This class is used with LaTeX presentations using the prosper class.
ppr-prv stands for "Prosper Preview". The aim of this class is to
produce a printable version of the slides written with Prosper, with
two slides per page.

Changes since previous version are:
  * The load of the babel package is now better detected ;
  * ppr-prv is now compatible with the patch for Prosper written by
Hendri Adriaens <http://stuwww.uvt.nl/~hendri/Downloads/haprosper.html>.

Best regards,

Thanks for the upload. I installed the new version as suggested in

CTAN submission -- babelbib

----- Forwarded message from Harald Harders -----

Date: Tue, 6 Jan 2004 13:50:01 +0100 (CET)
From: Harald Harders <h.harders@...>
To: ctan@...
Subject: CTAN submission -- babelbib
Sender: owner-ctan@...

I have uploaded babelbib-v0_44.tar.gz to ftp.dante.de. It contains a new
version of the babelbib bundle with unchanged license (LPPL). Please
replace all files in CTAN:/biblio/bibtex/contrib/babelbib by its contents.

>From the README:

This package enables to generate multilingual bibliographies in
cooperation with babel. Two approaches are possible: Each citation
may be written in another language, or the whole bibliography can
be typeset in a language chosen by the user. The current version
supports Afrikaans, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian,
Norwegian, Portoguese, Spanish, and Swedish.
In addition, the package supports commands to change the typography
of the bibliographies.
Supported bibliography styles are bababbrv.bst, bababbr3.bst,
babalpha.bst, babamspl.bst, babplai3.bst, babplain.bst, and babunsrt.bst.

Change log:
- 0.44 2004/01/06 - Improved spacings in documentation
- 0.43 2004/01/06 - Document the problem using frenchle.sty when using
french language with some babel versions
                    - Warn if using french language

CTAN has a new package: subfig

A new package has been installed at tug.ctan.org and it should be
mirrored to your favorite source site in the next day or two.

Thanks for the upload,
Jim Hefferon

======================================================================

The following information was provided by the package's contributor.

Name of contribution: subfig
Author's name: Steven Douglas Cochran
Location on CTAN: tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/subfig
Summary description: Figures broken into subfigures
License type: lppl

Announcement text given by the package's contributor:
- - ----------------------------------------------------------------------
This package supersedes the subfigure package (which will continue to be
supported, but no longer maintained). The name has changed because the
subfig package is not completely backward compatible with the older
subfigure package due to an extensive rewrite to use the new caption
package to produce its subcaptions. The major advantage to the new
package is that the user interface is keyword/value driven and easier to
use. To ease the transition from the subfigure package it includes a
configuration file (subfig.cfg) which nearly emulates the subfigure package.
- - ----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can have a look at the package at
  http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive//tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/subfig
