CTAN installation: NRC macros

I have today installed on CTAN the latest release of the macros I have
written for the NRC press journals; see

  macros/latex/contrib/supported/nrc

This directory contains macros, and some documentation, for
typesetting papers for submission to journals published by the
National Research Council of Canada. The macros are provided as a
pair of classes, one for journals printed in two columns and the other
for journals (such as the Canadian Journal of Physics, post-1997)
which are printed in a single-column format. (The previous release of
these macros only supported the single-column format.)

This latest release of the macros, while they are not in the public
domain, are available for general use under the terms of the LPPL.

Mort's original announcement gave a local pointer to a copy of the
output. Since this file is ~=900Kbytes, and any interested party is
likely to have a copy of rfc-index.txt, I've not put the output on
CTAN.

Following my suggestion that I might put the file on CTAN, Mort

In order to protect the innocent masses on the stock exchanges of the
world, I hereby report in public that this file is in the public
domain.

I've installed the file in biblio/bibtex/utils/rfc2bib/rfc2bib.awk

New on CTAN: verbdef.sty -- Define commands which expand to verbatim text

I've just installed this small package here. From the catalogue
entry:

The package defines a single command \verbdef (which has a
*-form, like \verb). \verbdef will define a robust command
whose body expands to verbatim text. By using commands defined
by \verbdef, one can put verbatim text into the arguments of
commands; since the defined command is robust, it doesn't matter
if the argument is moving. (Full details of syntax and caveats
about use are in comments in the file itself.)

the FILES.* files are generated once a day, only (at 0600 or so,
here).

CTAN submission -- jurabib package v0.5d with English doc

----- Forwarded message from Jens Berger <jberger@...> -----
I've just uploaded the file jurabib-05d.zip to

        ftp://ftp.dante.de/incoming.

This archive contains an updated version (0.5d) of the jurabib package.

It is distributed under the GNU General Public License.

The following files are included:

jurabib.ins
jurabib.dtx

jurabib supports various forms of short and long citations like
those build with bibentry.sty or inlinebib.sty, but it's more
flexible and no longer noteworthy only for German law students.

Changes in 0.5d:

o English documentation (jbendoc.tex, special thanks to
        Maarten Wisse for the translation)
o howcited=all places the howcited remark for all entries
 o [pm]french.sty-compatibility (frenchle.sty will follow)
o you can use the keyval-interface more intuitive:
        authorformat={smallcaps,indexed,abbrv}
o minimal example document for the humanities
o some macro names have changed inside \bibs<language>
o new file loading mechanism for linguistic stuff
o completely rewritten \bibitem code (necessary for

CTAN submission -- TeXshade 1.4a

----- Forwarded message from Eric Beitz <ebeitz@...> -----
From: ebeitz@... (Eric Beitz)
Subject: TeXshade 1.4a update uploaded

I have just uploaded a new version of the TeXshade package (1.4a) for
setting nucleotide and protein alignments in LaTeX to
"ftp.dante.de/incoming/texshade-corr". It features new possiblities for
positioning the legend and some changes in the documentation and the
FAQ-list.

Please replace the old files in
"~W/tex-archive/macros/latex2e/contrib/supported/texshade" by the new ones.

The license is GPL.
----- End forwarded message -----

Thanks for the upload, I installed it as suggested.

should we delete our copies? we obviously shouldn't upload to ctan
things people don't want to put there, but it seems silly to keep
wildly out of date stuff. (i don't actually remember _any_ movement
in biblio/bibtex/mac since i've been involved with ctan...)

i decided actually to put bibgene into a directory of its own, so its
ctan path is now biblio/bibtex/utils/bibgene/bibgene122.hqx
